2.5 months on the job. I am being optimistic and so far, things are looking up abit. The team is starting to trust me and 'remember' to involve me in their daily work activities. The AM is still trying her best to mess with me but I just ignore it. As long as things move, I refuse to play what she is playing, too bad then if she dont go with the flow. After all, she is still reporting to me and I am her boss! HAHA!~ *EVIL LAUGH???*
Nothing much happening in my life nowadays. Public holiday on Friday for Malaysia day. Didnt do much. Babe and I went to IKEA after our breakfast of tomato kueh teow at Alex stall. Was hoping to buy the baby's mattress pad but it is still out of stock. Guess hubby will need to go there on his own when I am back in Kuching next month.
Saturday, hubby had to go work half day. So, I did my usual Saturday thing when hubby had to work, i.e. send his uniforms to laundrette to iron, breakfast and home to cook lunch for us. But Saturday I didnt cook this Saturday. Instead, packed his favourite mixed pork porridge and bought half roasted chicken for babe since I had late breakfast, i.e. brunch! After lunch, we just laze around basically doing nothing and went to the night market at around 530pm to find fresh chicken wings for dinner. Deep fried those and that is what we had for dinner :)
Sunday, I am sweating all over actually. Hubby has taken the initiative to vacuum the floor without me nagging. So, me being me, cant just sit on my butt and let him the work, went around and help him pick up the things and tidying them. So, end up, I am now sweaty and hot eventhough it is going to rain soon. I woke up around 11am this morning and babe slept till almost 1pm.
I cooked fried rice, heat up yesterday chicken mushroom soup and wah lah, LUNCH! HAHA! My 4-legged monkey, aka Ginger also had her lunch and now she is lying down in front of the door to sleep as well as making sure that we dont slip out of the house without her knowing. All in in all, it is going to be a lazy Sunday I think.
We do plan to go out later though after the rain stopped to drive around and see if we can find any baby nursery near here or my work place. Only around 1 month left before I go back to Kuching....time flies...

Dream Home...
Since we back from Kuching, I silently tell babe that perhaps we should slowly look around for suitable houses to buy instead of rushing since the bank interest rate has already gone up. Initially, when we start house hunting, the agents were telling us that we better hurry because the rates going to go up 2nd half of the year. But seems the rates went up earlier than anticipated. So, there is no rush now as long as the landlord does not push us out of the house because he is selling it. If he does and we have not found a house that we want, then I guess we will just rent a smaller place first.
We are still hoping to find something in the area that we stayed in previously. Not sure why but both of us just love the environment and ambience the place radiate I guess. Not so sure how to explain this. It is not as if the place is super grand. In fact, it is an aged housing area or people call it matured housing area. I guess we were just feeling comfortable & safe and this is the most important factor especially with the wee-one coming end of the year. Also, we want a landed property because there is simply no other way for us since we are both dog-lover. Also, I will always remember what my mom told me when she was here with dad and sis previously to visit us when we were staying in an apartment. She said dad told her feel like staying in a prison! HAHA! I guess them being from Kuching and never stayed in a apartment or condo before, the place is abit restrictive with no balcony or porch.
We have actually done our surveying and the price really scares us. For simple single storey terrace or link house it can range from RM400K to RM450K. Double storey can cost almost double of that. There is also town house which ranges from RM500K onwards. The price of the single storey house can purchase TWO of my parents place in Kuching!
There is another area which we are looking at. A few of babe’s friends are actually staying either in the same area or nearby. It is also pretty near to the IOI Mall and Jusco at Equine park. Houses here are double storey terrace or link house and the price ranges from RM280K-300K which is still rather reasonable. But we are still reluctant to commit because the place is rather far away from any highway to make it convenient. Else, we could just put a deposit at anytime for the house we are happy with and start from there. I know some of you might be telling me that being a distant from highway is good but if you have the drive at least 15-20min from your house to the highway that you need to take to get to work, then another 20-30min vs just 5min from home to highway and still have the same 20-30min, which would you choose?
Anyway, we are still looking around for our dream house and will take our time I guess especially since I cant help babe move if we do move before the baby comes along…

Headache..real actual Headache AFTER shopping
Just got back from 1U to get some stuffs to bring back to Kch on Friday. After walking less than 3 hours, I am already feeling tired and having a headache. Stamina is just not like what it used to be! Tmrw evening will be going out again. Have some errands to run before going back hometown and also need to send Ginger to the kernel. Poor gal, she is gonna be there for 10 days! Hope she wont be siaw dog when we finally come and get her on 2 Jan.
So, seems my days are all planned out for my Kch trip.
24 Dec - Arrive Kch around 11.30am! What to do first??????????
25 Dec to 27 Dec - Go sri Aman.
27 Dec, PM - Dinner with the gals @ The Junk.
28 Dec-29 Dec - Gonna stay @ parents place and let myself spoiled silly!Knowing dad, he will most probably get the both of us up and go to bak kut teh that his son-in-law likes...sigh..
29 Dec,PM - Our wedding anniversary..Wonder babe got anything planned this year or not :)
30 Dec to 31 Dec - Planning to sleep 2 parents place again and my turn to spoil them :P
31 Dec, PM - Should be going to babe's friend's house for bbq, same as every year. Almost a tradition already.

Fishes Nemo Fishes Nemo
This posting is babe's special request (more like demanded lar) that I upload his new aquarium photos with the guppies that we recently acquired. We bought the 1.5 x 1.5 x 2 aquarium from a shop at the Old Klang Road two weekends ago. The whole aquarium set with the stand and top cover, light and pump comes up to about RM180-200.
And yes, we still have the other aquarium with the mixed koi in it and yes, both are in our tiny apartment living room. So far, I think we must have spent more than RM500 just on aquarium and another few hundred on the fishes and accessories. I dont really mind them lar because they are pretty and there were even baby guppies. Last night, babe even managed to get the koi to eat from his fingers (UGH!). But I really dislike cleaning fish tanks lar!!!
Actually, that was one of the condition that I set with babe when he decided to get his first aquarium, i.e. he will clean the fish tanks and take care of it himself. I will not help him clean it or anything lar. But me being the softhearted idiot, of course cannot just sit there and let him do it alone when he actually cleans it! Haiyaaa..so end up, when he decided that his fishes need a major cleaning up job, I will also be busy with him! HMMPF!
Anyway, enough of my rambling. The photos:

Leaving on a jet plane....
Guess what I did early this morning? *GRIN* No, it is not what you think especially you SK! (Yar, I know EXACTLY what you think when I asked that question). I booked my ticket from Kuching to KL via the AirAsia free seats promotion. So, fly from Kch-KL on 2 Jan 2010. Err..but we not yet book the ticket from KL to Kuching because we can't find any free seats promotion for 23 or 24 Dec 2009. So, we decided to wait for next promotion just in case it can be cheaper.
AND I also checked MAS for CNY ticket since AA still cannot book that far away yet. But MAS also can only book 1 yr in advance. So, I can only check the flight to go back Kuching from KL on 12 Feb. Still not too bad since the ticket is RM260 for 2 pax one way. Meaning that RM130 per pax?
So, I was thinking, if I am lucky enough that the ticket from Kch to KL is also RM260 for 2 pax one way, then that mean that return ticket for 2 pax is RM520. And since the company still owe me a one way ticket, then RM520 - RM130 = RM390 all inclusive! Not bad hor??? The plan is to go back Kuching on 12 Feb 2010 and back to KL on 20 Feb 2010. In total, we take 3days annual leave only since CNY falls on 14 Feb 2010 which is a Sunday!
This time, no matter what babe say, must go back for CNY! I miss having reunion dinner with my family and also visiting relatives and friends. Somehow, celebrating here is just not the same as being back in hometown. Dont CARE!! Babe say must go back for Christmas. I say must go back for CNY. So, fair right? Go back Christmas because of him and go back for CNY because of me. Any other time, we go vacation lar! Let me see, 3 days for CNY, Christmas might need 4 days, so total 7 days annual leave.
Am very excited thinking about this although it is still about one year away!!!

CNY is coming to town....
Another 3 days of work and it is CNY~!! Gosh! Have I got everything ready? Errr...actually, I also don't know. Am thinking of going to the wet market again this Sunday if our partner in crime for the bbq on Sunday night is short of things. We already have 3kg of pork and 1 whole chicken for the bbq. Planning to buy brinjal but if only to get that, no need to go wet market lar. So troublesome to find parking. I think this Sunday might be very crowded at the wet market despite what the stall lady said last Sunday when I was there.
She said most people would have gone back hometown already and got everything their need the day or week before. Might be true but am not going there unless absolutely necessary lar. Or maybe I can persuade babe to go there and see if there is any firecrackers? HAHAHA! Aidui aidui..abit homesick lar. Keep thinking what my parents are doing and preparing for CNY. Usually I will be the one planning everything from buying all the goodies to the dinner on the eve to open house. But this time, they have to do it alone with some help from my brother.
My brother, according to my mom, not much help lar. Ask him to look for restaurant for the CNY dinner, the price turn out to be close to RM1K because he asked places like Holiday Inn, Hilton, etc. So funny! HAHAHA! In the end, dad and mom went and ask Country Court. Full dinner for 10 comes up to RM288. So, they will be going there. I heard that dad already pre-booked roast duck, pork and chicken from one of the restaurant. And mom bought her favourite dried fig, 1kg!! Crazy!
As for me, I think I finally finished decorating the apartment. Yesterday, went and bought the bulb for the lamp that my colleague gave me. Bought energy saving bulb from Osram. Kinda pricey but since it is guaranteed to last for at least a year and tested to be able to last for 3 years, I consider it value for money. One normal bulb is about RM2 and from experience, last about 3 months. One Osram energy saving bulb is RM19and last 3 years. You do the maths lar. I am lazy :P
Anyway, can't resist taking some photos of the new lamp.
Very dark I know but basically just want to show how the lamp looks like when it is on. The house looks pretty bright and calming. The fishes in the tank were excited too with the extra light near them. Swimming round and round. And the fishes have a routine now. They know once their aquarium lights is on and the sound of plastic bag mean food is coming their way. And they will be so excited and swim around the aquarium in a frenzy. Too bad I cant put my hand into the tank and pat them. Or rather, I can do that but that probably mean I am giving them a killing touch? HAHAHA OK OK..enough!

6 more days to go!
Haiyaaa...saw that the durian split abit already when I go to the balcony this morning. I hope still good to eat tonite. Wasted! But it was good yesterday. I reached my home around 6pm. One of my colleague has kindly offered to drive me back home before she goes home herself. So, didnt wait for babe to pick me up and go home. He was only hope AFTER 6.30pm. I think it was because of the rained quite abit although only for short while. Poor babe, he was wet when he got home. He say he cant find the umbrella in the car. Typical man. I told him before mar, it is next to the front passenger seat!
I am finally in CNY mood, abit lar. Just 6days away only. We bought some stuff already but mostly are titbits and cookies that babe and I want to eat. Let me see if I can remember what we bought. Happy nuts (pistachio nuts lar but we always call it happy nut, direct translation from Mandarin), peanuts (in case some of the guys want to drink beer or liquor and eat that), split beans, pineapple tart, peanut cookie, green bean cookie, ngaku (first time having this since I dont think Kuching have them. This are arrowhead crisps), choc chip cookies and few other types of titbits.
Am thinking to bake the steamed horlick cake, flourless chocolate cake (plan to use the rice cooker and try to bake it :P ) and no-bake cheesecake. Might even do the crispy seaweed but need to see have the time or not. Need to allocate and do abit of time management. Have to do spring cleaning especially the spare bedroom. Or maybe I will just keep that room under lock until after the cny? hhhmm..tempting tempting. Oh dont look at me that way! I need to prioritise mar! Still need to spring clean the apartment abit. Yesterday night we already took off the sofa cover, soak them in the washing machine for an hour with bleach and detergent. Now it is hanging outside in the balcony.
Then babe said this Friday want to wash all the floor mat. He can do that and I will vacuum and mop as usual. The apartment is more or less decorated and look more festive for the cny. One of the colleague gave me his old floor lamp. So gorgeous and looks perfect near the aquarium. Just need to go to the hardware store during lunch time to get a bulb for it. Babe was happy with the addition too although he is wondering how come I can get nice free stuff like that! He suspecting I buy ler.....Sheesh! MEN!
Mom keep asking if I want to go back for cny. Guess they are missing me because it will be the first year that their daughter not at home for cny. I know I am already missing them. Usually around this time, we would be busy decorating the house and buying more foodstuff. Mom told me yesterday that they will be having open house on Monday. Nothing grand lar, just cooked some food on top of the usual titbits and cookies. I am not planning much for next Monday and Tuesday. Plan to stay at home and catch up on sleep. Do a little blogging, watch astro, eat and sleep!
Might pursuade babe to go drive around KL since it should be pretty traffic-free. But then again, might be too lazy to do it. Sigh! This are one of those time that I wish we are married and living in Kuching. Then we can be near our parents. CNY eve can go to my parents place for reunion dinner, first day cny can go visit uncles and aunties. 2nd or 3rd day can go visit friends. Gosh! I better stop this or else I will end up in tears! Cant believe how much I will miss them especially during festive season. Next year MUST GO BACK! Must book ticket early.....

EAT AND EAT AND EAT AND EAT....
WEeEeEeEeeeeeeeee FRIDAY!!!!! Looking forward to this day even before the week starts! After the long break from work going back to my hometown to get hitched, I am seriously thinking of switching my career and becoming a full-time-housewife (FTH). Of course, for now, that is just say say only lar. Even when my babe earn enough to support the both of us, I don't think I can tahan just sit at home without much social interaction. Even the idea of just socialising with other FTH or his friends sound simply too..ermm..depressing! I need more stimulation that babe *grin*.
Anyway, too early to think such serious thought today. Since it is Friday, I will tell you my activities after THE DAY. Although, Friday have absolutely nothing to do with why I am telling you what I did after being hitched, I just feel like making it sound as if it does! HEHEHEHE! So, if you are abit sick of me ranting on, I warning you, this should be another long post! So here goes....
We actually checked in a hotel on 29 Dec (THE DAY) and stayed for two nights. The first night was of course THE DAY night. I know where you guys are thinking and the direction you think this is going! Well, to tell you the truth, I drank a wee bit too much (ok! ok! DRANK ALOT!) and can hardly keep my eyes open that night. After we got back from dinner, all I can do is take off my fake eyelashes, contact lense and get into my oversize t-shirt and SLEEP!
I dare not even move my head too much because that would mean the room will start to spin out of control (or maybe that was me spinning???hhmm..) and whatever food that I managed to eat for the day threaten to jump out of my throat. So, we slept till 11am the next day. Then dad called us for breakfast/brunch. Cannot remember what we had. I think it was bak kut teh at Grandma @ Rock Road. Or was that another time? Geez, really cannot remember lar.
All I can remember is that after THE DAY, I remember eating so much that I thought I will not be able to fit into my work clothes when I come back to KL. In fact, there were so many dinners, party and bbq before the day also that I was worried I couldnt fit into my wedding gowns. But all the rushing around and stress must have burn lots of calories because the gown was actually slightly loose, which surprised me because I actually asked the seamstress at the bridal shop to make it really snug when I went for fitting in KL.
Let me see, I remember getting my bro to bring us for supper immediately after picking us up from the airport but I didnt eat because already ate on the plane. The next day was dinner at Lok Thian. The day after that was dinner at one of babe's auntie's place for his cousin's baby 1yr-old birthday. Then after that is bbq at my house because dad been wanting one but since I was not around, no one wanted to help him get it started. So, waited till I am back.
Then after that, it was all a blur. I remember I cooked dinner a few times at home, eating a few brunch and have a few plates of kolo mee. I remember having kampua with pork soup at Kota Sentosa's Jolly cafe and babe ate kueh chap but dont remember which day it was lar. Also, dad and mom bought live mud crab with we steam bake it for dinner! Err what else ah? hhm..I didn't have a single bowl of laksa because I cooked that the week before we go back to Kuching.
We had a few bowls of bak kut teh also when we were there. Also went to RH for bbq steamboat. Damn nice but super oily. His cousin say it is like eating oil! HAHA! Dad bought us to Akasu for roast pork, yap the whole piglet with its crunchy skin and tender meat! I know there are a few more meals that I missed but right now, just cant think of what lar. I think I should have taken photos hor? Then can look back at the photos and timestamp to recall. Oh well, nevermind. There is always a next trip. Already have a returned ticket booked for Jul when AirAsia was giving out the free fare when they remove the fuel surcharge.
Anyway, too early to think such serious thought today. Since it is Friday, I will tell you my activities after THE DAY. Although, Friday have absolutely nothing to do with why I am telling you what I did after being hitched, I just feel like making it sound as if it does! HEHEHEHE! So, if you are abit sick of me ranting on, I warning you, this should be another long post! So here goes....
We actually checked in a hotel on 29 Dec (THE DAY) and stayed for two nights. The first night was of course THE DAY night. I know where you guys are thinking and the direction you think this is going! Well, to tell you the truth, I drank a wee bit too much (ok! ok! DRANK ALOT!) and can hardly keep my eyes open that night. After we got back from dinner, all I can do is take off my fake eyelashes, contact lense and get into my oversize t-shirt and SLEEP!
I dare not even move my head too much because that would mean the room will start to spin out of control (or maybe that was me spinning???hhmm..) and whatever food that I managed to eat for the day threaten to jump out of my throat. So, we slept till 11am the next day. Then dad called us for breakfast/brunch. Cannot remember what we had. I think it was bak kut teh at Grandma @ Rock Road. Or was that another time? Geez, really cannot remember lar.
All I can remember is that after THE DAY, I remember eating so much that I thought I will not be able to fit into my work clothes when I come back to KL. In fact, there were so many dinners, party and bbq before the day also that I was worried I couldnt fit into my wedding gowns. But all the rushing around and stress must have burn lots of calories because the gown was actually slightly loose, which surprised me because I actually asked the seamstress at the bridal shop to make it really snug when I went for fitting in KL.
Let me see, I remember getting my bro to bring us for supper immediately after picking us up from the airport but I didnt eat because already ate on the plane. The next day was dinner at Lok Thian. The day after that was dinner at one of babe's auntie's place for his cousin's baby 1yr-old birthday. Then after that is bbq at my house because dad been wanting one but since I was not around, no one wanted to help him get it started. So, waited till I am back.
Then after that, it was all a blur. I remember I cooked dinner a few times at home, eating a few brunch and have a few plates of kolo mee. I remember having kampua with pork soup at Kota Sentosa's Jolly cafe and babe ate kueh chap but dont remember which day it was lar. Also, dad and mom bought live mud crab with we steam bake it for dinner! Err what else ah? hhm..I didn't have a single bowl of laksa because I cooked that the week before we go back to Kuching.
We had a few bowls of bak kut teh also when we were there. Also went to RH for bbq steamboat. Damn nice but super oily. His cousin say it is like eating oil! HAHA! Dad bought us to Akasu for roast pork, yap the whole piglet with its crunchy skin and tender meat! I know there are a few more meals that I missed but right now, just cant think of what lar. I think I should have taken photos hor? Then can look back at the photos and timestamp to recall. Oh well, nevermind. There is always a next trip. Already have a returned ticket booked for Jul when AirAsia was giving out the free fare when they remove the fuel surcharge.

SWIMMING & DIRECT SELLING....
My colleague and I finally went to the swimming at the pool at my apartment yesterday evening. I was suppose to have a meeting at 6pm yesterday but after dialing in and waited for about 15minutes, the moderator has not dial in yet (turn out he couldn't wake up! He was 5am his time and 6pm our time. Guess cant blame him lar). So, we dropped the call and decided that since still have time, we might as well go back to my place for a swim.
It was actually pretty dark by the time we finished changing to our swimsuit and go to the pool. Dark but still can see lar because the sun has not fully set. That was around 7.30pm. always thought that the water will be warm because the pool would have absorbed the heat from the sun the whole day and is suppose to release it slowly in the evening. But the water was so cold last night! Super duper cold. Kee, my colleague was actually shivering! I know I can feel EVERY part of my body tensed from the cold.
But after moving around in the pool for awhile, we felt better lar. There was another girl in the pool. One of the people staying at the apartment too. It was the first time I see her. When she wave and say hello, we thought she was just being friendly at first. Then suddenly, she ask do you know what is, I actually rolled my eyes in my brain, OH NO! ANOTHER DIRECT SALES! I have nothing against people that do direct selling but please lar! We went to the pool to swim and have fun. Not to listen to the nonsense about EXPERIENCE SHARING GATHERING or whether we are interested and if yes, she can invite us! As if that is such a previlege thing, to be invited..sheesh!! GERAM!
But me and K being super nice people, we just dont have the heart to tell someone direct to the face to shut up and leave us in peace. So, in the end, we were trying really really hard to change the topic a few times without much success and when she asked if we are free this Saturday, that was the last straw and I immediately told her, sorry, I wont be around. Will be going away for a long trip. I think she finally got the hint lar and left the pool without saying goodbye or anything! HEHEHE!
Anyway, we had a good peaceful swim after that. Looking forward to doing it again. Maybe we go to Jusco later and check out the swimsuit on 50% sales? ALAMAK! Errr...maybe not. Need to save $$$ ~>_<~ Or I bring Sum there and ask her to buy her swimsuit & googles??? PPsst, Kee, what u think?
After the swim and bath, we went to the mamak for dinner around 8.30pm. Ate thosai telur again with chutney that is white (coconut I think) and brown (er..this I am not sure what but really nice mix with the white one). Kee also ate thosai but hers was plain one. Babe at nasi pattaya and we ordered chicken tandoori. Super full after that but we were glad because we ate super light throughout the day and finally go swimming. Dinner was not too heavy. So, all in all, it was a good day yesterday.

Things People Hang on Their Main Door
I know I just posted a super long posting already today but can't resist a little gossiping. I can't help noticing one door of one of the neighbour at the apartment that I am staying now. At a glance, we thought perhaps since she have two young kids, she is just teaching her kids but hanging up reminder at the door grill.
We didn't dare to stand at the door too long to take a better pic but even from this pic, can see alot of paper and stuff hanging on the grill. And on the door itself, alot of chinese amulet/charm (sp?). Anyway, since it was just the end of the ghost month/festival, this is hardly surprising right? But upon closer inspection, this is what we found written on the paper hanging on the grill:

And someone has added the word:

Scam and Syndicates in Kuching
I heard the most disturbing news from my friends in Kuching this morning. Apparently there is a syndicate/scam going around in Kuching. Seems there are two different ones from the sound of it. One is the actually kidnapping kids and asking for ransom. Another are scam calling up people to tell them their love ones, kids/bro/etc are kidnapped and if they want their love ones unharm, to come to such and such a place. Of course, for this, no one was actually kidnapped but imagine the horrifying feelings when receiving such calls. I have alerted my brother in Kuching to remind my parents not to believe such things especially since I am so far away from home and not always able to catch their calls.
Babe’s sister also mentioned that their mom’s friend’s son, a primary five boy was kidnapped from his school at SRK stampin and kidnappers are asking for ransom money. Some more, another friend is also telling me that a kid almost got kidnapped after the kid finished tuition and wait for the parents at Hui Sing. The kidnapper just walked up to the kid and start to pull the kid by the hand. Lucky the kid was smart enough and didn’t follow. Instead, sit on the floor and refuse to follow but still the man continue to try and drag the kid. Luckily, another car came by to drop of their kids for tuition and the man ran away in fear!
Babe’s sister also said that the parents of a kid at Lodge School (a private school for the rich in Kuching) received a scam call saying that their kid been kidnapped and ask for money. Luckily it was just a scam and the kid was safe at school. I definitely think there are two groups of syndicate going around. Perhaps they are from one big crime group? Sigh…I seriously don’t know what is going on with Kuching people nowadays. Few months back, the city was plague with snatch thieves, break-in and robbery in broad daylight! And now, kidnapping! I mean the scam aside, kids are actually being kidnapped!!
Sometimes, going around in the hypermarket or the mall, I can see kids running around freely without any adult supervision. Besides the fact that they are causing nuisance to other shoppers there, they are also at risk of being kidnapped and snatched! I don't have kids yet but it really sadden me each time the information counter announced “Will ------- parents come to the information counter immediately” and in the background, you can hear a little girl or boy crying non stop. Most parents might just take it for granted that it wouldn’t happen to them but by the time it does, what to do other than cry, panic and regrets? It is better to take the trouble and make time to take extra precaution than regretting them later. It might be too late by then!
The bad economy situation must have gotten some people really desperate, desperate enough to do drastic and silly things like this even in a small peaceful city like Kuching, Sarawak. To be truthful, I am horrified but am not very surprised. Imagine rice cost as much as RM27 per 10kg bag just for a normal low grade rice. Even 1kg is already RM2.70 and how long can 1kg last for a family of 5 or 10? To make matter worse, vegetable, fish, meat and other groceries are also increasing like crazy. Items such as milk powder are increasing 10-20%. Even Milo has increased price again. Last Friday, it was RM29+ for 2kg bag at Giants Supermarket Kelana Jaya. Is it a wonder that some desperate persons are turning to drastic measures?
Of course, each individual are responsible for their own action but on the side, I am wondering what are the policemen and our government are doing about this? I always try my very best not to say unpleasant things about the people that ‘protect’ us and the peace of our country. BUT ARE they waiting for a well-known someone’s kid to be kidnapped before they decided that enough is enough? How about those normal middle class families with parents earning just enough for a small emergency savings? Don’t their safety and safety of their kids/family count at all? Why does it always have to be something happening to someone important before serious action will be taken?
SO PEOPLE, BE CAREFUL! I KNOW YOU ALWAYS HEAR PEOPLE SAY THIS BUT DON’T TAKE IT FOR GRANTED. TELL YOUR KIDS NEVER TO FOLLOW A STRANGER NO MATTER WHAT THE STRANGER SAID. NEVER!

Dinasours and Elephants
The sky looks really gloomy from my office window. Maybe it is going to rain again. The weather in KL has been very unpredictable recently. Without any sign at all, it can start to pour elephants and dinasours. And then equally without warning, the gloomy sky can turn into sunshine hot day. No wonder I can hear cough and sniffles everywhere I go this few days. I guess we human are just too vulnerable to sudden weather changes. I wonder what the weather is like at the place that I am suppose to be at next week.
I know, I should have gone online to check but feeling rather lazy to do that. I have not even go around to check for the exchange rate to get my US dollar yet! Thought will only do that this Thursday or Friday. Anyway, not planning to bring much since will only actually be US for 2 days. The remaining days will be either on the plane or airports. I actually calculated that if I wake up at 10am on Monday, by the time I reach San Francisco airport at 8pm US-time, I would have been awake for more than 27hours!
Need to phase myself and sleep during flight or else I will end up either sleeping too much and cant sleep when I reach the hotel when everyone else is sleeping. Or not getting enough sleep and feeling extremely tired during the meeting the next day! Either way, already bought 3 books for me to bring along to occupy myself. Also, will ask babe to upload some of the series we downloaded into the laptop. Then if the in-flight movies are boring, I will watch my own series! Clever or not?
Too bad can’t go online or else I will be able to post and go blog-hopping. I heard Taipei airport do not have free wifi unless you go to places like Starbuck or Coffee Bean. But those places would mean that I have to pay for something and then sit to use the wifi lar! Hmm, maybe will do that if my bosses and colleagues don’t mind. After all, can claim! To tell you the truth, I am not looking forward to the trip at all because I know that it will be extremely tiring.
Also, if not because of this trip, I would have move in to the new apartment by this weekend and start having our own life. Instead, the actual move need to be postponed for two weeks. Anyways, this Saturday, after babe get off from work around 1pm, we are going to move some of our stuff that we are not using now to the new place first. Before that, on the way, plan to go Carrefour at Subang first to get a few essential items such as knives and so on. Wonder if we should get the kitchen top for the stove there too.

My Shopping List
I wonder when the wind whirl will stop spinning and let me settle down properly! I feel as if I am in the tornado spinning round and round without a moment to slow down and breath. It felt as all things that I always wanted, i.e. challenging job, change of environment, independence, commitment, marriage, travel and so on are all happening at once. So much so that I am actually starting to wonder all the good things come now, when will the bad ones be here and will it come at once too? Yar, I am a pessimist when it comes to good lucks since I always believe that there is always balance in life and counter effects. Oh well, maybe I shouldn’t dwell on it too much and take it as its face value and as it comes along!
Am I confusing you guys? Actually I am feeling rather embarrassed at the moment because yesterday was the first time since I start work that I had to ask my parents for a loan. Ever since I start working more than 8-9 years ago, I always make sure that I never had to ask for money from my parents. And so far, I had managed to do so. But with expenses when I moved myself here, settling down, paying deposit for the place we are renting, paying the car insurance and roadtax as well as the business trip to US, I think I am almost drowning in the sea of bills!
Of course the business trip is claimable and we will be getting the RM625 rebate. And the money for the deposit will be refunded when we finished the contract and decide not to renew it. But all those will only happen in due time and most of the bills are due NOW. Of course, babe shares the expenses but the keyword here is share and I am finding it getting harder and harder to keep my end of the bargain. Sigh~ So as last resort, going back to my parents with my tail between my legs and asking for help. My parents of course do not mind helping us out. In fact, mom been asking for more than a week if I have enough money for the trip to US as well as deposit for the apartment we want to rent.
So, I guess I am happy with how things are turning out. But at the same time, I am also depressed and upset about it. The fuel price hike is creating havoc to my budgeting that I done before I decided to accept the job and move here. I only hope that when the company confirms me next month, they will give me a big fat increment to counter the crazy inflation that is going on now. I am only glad that at least I have babe with me to go thru this. And that we are still very much in love although we have been dating for more than eight years!
It is actually kind of scary to see the inflation rate after the fuel hike. I went to Jusco yesterday after work with the intention to buy vegetable to cook for dinner. And thought that since I am there, might as well buy some eggs and other groceries too. The first thing I noticed was the price of eggs. Previously, you can still find 10eggs for RM3.20 but yesterday, there was not a single one with priced less than RM3.50. Then when I went to the vegetable section, Jusco use to have this cheap non-organic vegetables for RM0.60 per bunch. Yesterday was RM1 per bunch. Rice that was selling for RM37 two month back is selling for RM50 per 10kg bag! I dare not look at the price of other stuff after that.
This just confirmed that we need to write out the shopping list and go shopping twice per month only. And must remember to stick to the list, well, at least 90% of the items bought is from the list lar. Must allow oneself some luxury and pampering also right? Or else what is the point of all the stress and getting scolded by customers? So, I think I will put down the list of things that I will be needing for the apartment in three categories, a) must have immediately, b) buy in next few month, c) good to have when can afford. And the list are:
Must Have Immediately
Two door fridge – saw one Samsung RM999, still thinking.
Automatic washing machine – Saw one Samsung 7kg for RM699. Pretty sure will be getting this.
Iron & Ironing Board - planning to get Phillip dry & steam iron RM129
Electric Kettle – planning to get those around RM30-50 should be good enough
Things to clean and mop apartment
Folded table for kitchen – temporary solution till we get proper ones! Babe say no need proper one. Just use this but I think I will insist get the proper one for kitchen eventually lor.
Ikea wooden rack for kitchen – RM125. Don't care. MUST GET!
Cleaver, knives, chopper – need to go to hardware store and find good knives.
Wok and cooking utensils – this one also go hardware stores. I think I saw one near the wet market where I bought pork last week.
Plastic Chairs – temporary solution till we get proper ones!
Cooking gas – this will be expensive since need to pay for the tong too (sigh)

Mirror for bedroom and bathroom – thinking of the 4 pc mirror that Ikea selling for RM19.90.
Rack for bedroom and bathroom – thinking of getting those DIY mount on the wall type from Ikea
Vacuum Cleaner – not yet survey. Don’t know the price is like
Dining Set – Saw one nice table at Ikea but babe say not nice.
Sofa set – still looking. Maybe at a garage sale?

Dreamland mattress - babe wanted this lar! Don’t ask me why. I also not sure.
Bedroom set – still debating with babe. He say got mattress enough liaw but I prefer sleeping on proper bed!
Blender – in case want to make sambal bah! Don’t want to pound till I faint using those traditional stone type lar
Cake Mixer – maybe wont buy lor. Wait for mom to bring when she comes here. She say have a new one at home, free gift! haha
Oven – of course lar must get or else how am I going to make my baking? Saw decent ones below RM300. So wait first lar.
Toaster Oven – this is dual purpose, can use to toast bread OR cook something simple. Price below RM100
GOSH! Didn’t realized that the list of things that must get immediately is so long already! Luckily our parents forced us to bring a lot of stuff from Kuching when I was shipping my car here that time. So, I already have plates, eating utensil, corningware, steamer and a few other items. I wonder if I can get my mom to send us the extra curtains since there is always someone coming over to KL. Then can save up from having to buy curtains for the living room and bedroom! Pretty expensive you know. Cheapest also RM60 for two piece which is just enough for either living room or bedroom window. Anything else that I missed?
Am I confusing you guys? Actually I am feeling rather embarrassed at the moment because yesterday was the first time since I start work that I had to ask my parents for a loan. Ever since I start working more than 8-9 years ago, I always make sure that I never had to ask for money from my parents. And so far, I had managed to do so. But with expenses when I moved myself here, settling down, paying deposit for the place we are renting, paying the car insurance and roadtax as well as the business trip to US, I think I am almost drowning in the sea of bills!
Of course the business trip is claimable and we will be getting the RM625 rebate. And the money for the deposit will be refunded when we finished the contract and decide not to renew it. But all those will only happen in due time and most of the bills are due NOW. Of course, babe shares the expenses but the keyword here is share and I am finding it getting harder and harder to keep my end of the bargain. Sigh~ So as last resort, going back to my parents with my tail between my legs and asking for help. My parents of course do not mind helping us out. In fact, mom been asking for more than a week if I have enough money for the trip to US as well as deposit for the apartment we want to rent.
So, I guess I am happy with how things are turning out. But at the same time, I am also depressed and upset about it. The fuel price hike is creating havoc to my budgeting that I done before I decided to accept the job and move here. I only hope that when the company confirms me next month, they will give me a big fat increment to counter the crazy inflation that is going on now. I am only glad that at least I have babe with me to go thru this. And that we are still very much in love although we have been dating for more than eight years!
It is actually kind of scary to see the inflation rate after the fuel hike. I went to Jusco yesterday after work with the intention to buy vegetable to cook for dinner. And thought that since I am there, might as well buy some eggs and other groceries too. The first thing I noticed was the price of eggs. Previously, you can still find 10eggs for RM3.20 but yesterday, there was not a single one with priced less than RM3.50. Then when I went to the vegetable section, Jusco use to have this cheap non-organic vegetables for RM0.60 per bunch. Yesterday was RM1 per bunch. Rice that was selling for RM37 two month back is selling for RM50 per 10kg bag! I dare not look at the price of other stuff after that.
This just confirmed that we need to write out the shopping list and go shopping twice per month only. And must remember to stick to the list, well, at least 90% of the items bought is from the list lar. Must allow oneself some luxury and pampering also right? Or else what is the point of all the stress and getting scolded by customers? So, I think I will put down the list of things that I will be needing for the apartment in three categories, a) must have immediately, b) buy in next few month, c) good to have when can afford. And the list are:
Must Have Immediately
Two door fridge – saw one Samsung RM999, still thinking.
Automatic washing machine – Saw one Samsung 7kg for RM699. Pretty sure will be getting this.
Iron & Ironing Board - planning to get Phillip dry & steam iron RM129
Electric Kettle – planning to get those around RM30-50 should be good enough
Things to clean and mop apartment
Folded table for kitchen – temporary solution till we get proper ones! Babe say no need proper one. Just use this but I think I will insist get the proper one for kitchen eventually lor.
Ikea wooden rack for kitchen – RM125. Don't care. MUST GET!
Cleaver, knives, chopper – need to go to hardware store and find good knives.
Wok and cooking utensils – this one also go hardware stores. I think I saw one near the wet market where I bought pork last week.
Plastic Chairs – temporary solution till we get proper ones!
Cooking gas – this will be expensive since need to pay for the tong too (sigh)
Buy in next few months
Mirror for bedroom and bathroom – thinking of the 4 pc mirror that Ikea selling for RM19.90.
Rack for bedroom and bathroom – thinking of getting those DIY mount on the wall type from Ikea
Vacuum Cleaner – not yet survey. Don’t know the price is like
