I got this tag from Didi and decided that since I have already watched the season of House before, I might as well do something useful and do some blogging instead. Right, I think this tag is basically to let people know more about me and I will try my best to answer them as honestly as possible without making anyone falling asleep (psstt...in case you detect a white lie anyway, pretend you just see the white and not the lie :P)
1.) What was your dream during childhood?
- Dream as in what I want to be when I grow up or dream when you are sleeping? If dream to be when I grow up, well, believe it or not, I want to be a secret agent. Aint it cool to have the adult agents coming into the classroom and tell your teacher that they need to whisk jen away from the class for a secret mission? hehehe..I know, I know, chi sin... If it is about what I dream when I was sleeping, well, I think since I am crazy about horror and ghost movies as a kid and yet like to hide behind a pillow or my big stuff teddy, I tend to have terrifying ghost and monster related dream!
2.) Rainy days or sunny days. Why?
- I like rainy days because there is alot of things you can enjoy during rainy days. For example, dance in the rain. That is fun right (Dont lie, I am sure you did that at least once in your life). Or lying in bed at night under nice warm blanket with the watson pink stuffed dog and hearing raindrops falling on the roof. Or just sitting in the house looking out of the window when there is a drizzle just after a heavy storm. I used to tell a friend that I can actually smell the rain sometimes...
3.) Which colour do you prefer?
- I am always in black since it suppose to have the slimming effect. But I am trying to brighten my looks. So, pink is the color I am into at the moment.
4.) Who would you marry?
- Is this a trick question? Babe, is this a trick question?
5.) What present would you prefer best?
- A gift that is received or given when it is least expected and seeing the smile on the person's face when they see the gift.
6.) What are you most afraid of losing?
- Love ones and family more than anything else in the world. They will always be my top priorities.
7.) If you met someone you love, would you confess to him her or keep it a secret?
- Well, I dont believe in love at first sight but if I have a CRUSH on someone, I will not confess to him because I am actually a very shy gal^_^
8.) The dumbest thing you had done in your life?
- Errrm...would knowingly allow someone take advantage of me count?
9.) Which type of person you hate the most?
- I absolutely dislike people that like to talk big, do name dropping and show-off. There is this uni classmate of mine that is absolutely handsome but he really really like to do name dropping alot. I mean in almost every conversation that he made, he will start with, do you know such and such person bla bla bla bla. First few time, you feel so blurred and actually fell stupid but after awhile, it just get old and boring. To make matter worse, I know he have something for me to the extend that he start to 'accidentally' touch me and I got crept out once when he supposedly 'accidentally' brushed his hands across my butt in the lecture hall which is full of people!!! I was already dating my babe then and sufficient to say that I make sure that I am never alone with him no matter what.
10.) What is your ambition?
- Would winning millions from the lottery count? hahaha
11.) Would you rather be someone else at this moment?
- Yah, a motivated self. With my Obi, I have no motivation to work most of the time and that is extremely dangerous as it mean the person will be prone to making mistakes and missing something.
12.) If you can have a dream come true, what would it be?
- Ermm...can I say winning millions from the lottery again? :P
13.) What do you think that is the most important thing in your life?
- Love ones & family
14.) What qualities do you want in your other half?
- Ask babe, he has all the qualities I want in my other half!
15.) Who is your favourite cartoon character?
- Gosh this is a tough one. Havent been watching cartoon for awhile. hhmm..would becoming a member of the ghostbusters do?
16.) Which is the best time of your life?
- Spending time with all the people that I love and care about.
17.) Who do you wanna meet at least once before you die?
- hhmmm...was going to say God but I guess I will meet Him when I die.
18.) What would you do if you could go back in time?
- Visit my grandpa before he pass away and ask him how come he love my bro more.
19.) Most memorable day of 2007?
- This is the easiest, the day that babe asked me to marry him ^_^
Wah lau, this tag is so long one! Didiiiiiiiiiii...I finished the tag liaw.

Pineapple Tart Pic
Finally know what is the problem and why I cant upload the pic. Blogspot have problem if you try to upload a pic that is bigger than 3MB. Didnt realised that I set the camera at such high resolution. So, here you go, the pic as promised.
PINEAPPLE TART
Superwoman?
I was raving and ranting to Rose just now how come when the man got married, they expect their wife to take over the household chores like ironing, washing, cooking which the man were able to do perfectly when they are bachelor. I mean, if the purpose of getting a wife is so that the wife can serve the husband like that, then men should just think of hiring a maid. At least the maid get paid a salary and can quit whenever she want..bluek:P hahaha..
Of course, I am not saying all men are like that. There are of course a few men out there that help their wife religiously with the household chores. And no, this men are not gays. They just happen to be the modern time hyper-sensitive new age type of guy. However, sad to say, so far, I have not met a single man that is actually the new age type. For example, my dad, as much as I love him I sometimes feel irritated because my dad is a big time couch potato.
Yah, I admit. Dad's main job everyday if not at the office would be sitting in front of the tv and will ask either mom or me to do everything for him. Including getting him a glass of water from the kitchen and even passing him his medicine from the table that is just 5 feet away from him. (Most of the time, I would either be in the 2nd living room or my bedroom or kitchen and he will ask girl, where my medicine?) . Dad would do the same to mom and sometimes mom got so irritated that she will tell dad that she is tired and go take it himself. But mostly mom will just do whatever dad ask and complain to me..egad!
And then there is my babe of course. Even before I am there, whenever I tell him I wont do this and that because I hate them (for example ironing), then he will ask then why I go to KL if not to take care of him. And then I ask him, who take care of me. He will say yourself lar. hmmpff! I know he is joking but I still feel kek tiok! Of course irritated when being told that he want me there because need someone more or less like a housemaid. Yah yah, I know he was joking but I dont mean I have to like the joke right?
Dont care, we women must stand united and be firmed. After all, this is not like in the olden days when the husband is the sole bread owner and is responsible for all the expenses of the household. Now, most family is dual income, i.e. both parents working and contribute towards the household expenses. In the old days, the husband might have a valid excuse and say that he is tired from working whole day while the wife just stay at home. So the household chores & raising of kids responsibilities belong to the wife fully. But now, what other excuse is there? (To be frank, I think becoming a full-time housewife is even more hardwork than working outside).
So, why in the world does the household chores need to fall to the lap of the woman? Why cant men also take part in ironing (including their wife's clothes)? If there is any men out there that can give me a good rational excuse for not sharing household chores, I sure like to know...
p.s. Ok, back to doing my report now that I already clear my brain and wash my eyes:P

I HATE IRONING!
Woke up this morning feeling extremely lazy and wishing that I had listen to my heart before the long break to take today off. But in the end decided against it since Obi is not around today! I want to cherish the feeling of not having someone constantly breathing down my neck and asking redundant questions early in the morning. The office is very quiet today. Only 4 out of 11 people working today. When the 4 of us came to work this morning, we say we will be monster coming out to play. But so far, we have been very good and working hard. Trying to catch up with the work after the long holiday actually.
Yes, catch up with work. Not everyone in the world is having holiday for the Chinese New Year. Those in the US and European countries are working as usual. So are my customers in Japan. So, things are still happening on their side of the world and they are still sending emails to me despite the fact that I did tell them that we are off. Guess they just cant wait or they rather send the emails first so that the ball now is in my court. On top of that, will be very busy this week as well since my customers are coming to visit us next week.
On and off, while working or doing anything, I will feel my stomach churn and heart palpitate whenever I think of the KL thingie. Yah, nervous and excited at the same time. I asked my babe what he feel about it. Whether he is excited or not... All he can say is, abit and will only get more excited when he see me in front of him in person and actually going to start work. Geez...
And then I sms babe asking him about Valentine's Day and telling him how sad I am that it will be the first Valentine that we are not together. I was expecting him to say nevermind because subsequent years for sure will be together since we are getting married. But instead, he say: SO? ggrrr......So kek tiok (frustrated).
Then I tell him that he better iron his own clothes in the future as that is one of the things that I hate the most. Almost all of my clothes does not require ironing and even if it does, it is very easy to iron. I really hate ironing pants because I will either get too many crease or not align the damn pants properly and the other side that I am ironing on will be all wrinkled again. So, usually, whenever I buy any pants for my dad, I will always look for those wrinkle free or EasyIron type.
Anyway, coming back to what I was saying. I told him he better not expect me to do the ironing for him because I hate them. I dont mind doing the cooking but he need to help with the cleaning up,etc. Or if I have to work late, he cook lor sometimes. And guess what he say...... " what for lar you come here then?"...~>_<~ I know he is teasing lar but I still feel kek tiok. hhmppff....So I tell him to just go ahead and wear his wrinkled clothes to work in the future. I dont mind :P
Jiak lak, I am day dreaming so early in the day and I still have 2 or 3 reports to prepare...

The End and The Beginning
Can hardly believe that it is already Sunday and tomorrow is normal working day already. How time flies. Just a few weeks ago, I was in KL talking about being back to Kuching just 10 days before CNY. Was so looking forward to having the long break during CNY and when it is actually here, it is hard to believe that the holiday is almost over. Well, I dont know if I am happy the break is over or not.
Didnt do much for the last few days actually. Eve of CNY, as mentioned previously, the whole family went over to my aunt's (dad's sis) place and we celebrated the reunion dinner there. The dinner was alot of fun. Usually, it is just us, mom, dad, sis, bro n myself. But this year, it is more fun and definitely more interesting. Not sure why we never thought of doing this before. hhmm..actually I know EXACTLY why we didnt do it previously but I am not ready to share that with the world for now. Well, given the choice, which I hope I will be given, I would love to do all the future reunion dinner in the true traditional way.
First day of CNY, woke up around 9.30am. We all had our breakfast at home and then changed to visit my grandma who is spending the CNY holidays with my aunt & family. Went there, collect ang pau and reached home around 1pm. Didnt do much else that day except sleep and bake 2 cakes. Yah, baked on the first day of CNY. Aint I crazy? Well, bro was so happy to see horlick cake at my aunt's place that turn out to be choc cheese cake. So, I thought, once a year, ok, I bake the horlick cake since my bro enjoy them every year. So, horlick cake and cheesecake...heheheh
2nd day was more crazy. People start arriving around 10.30am. Starting with my aunt (mom's sis) and family. Then followed by the other aunt and family. And then friends. I think they all have set their own time table because it seems they all seem to know the appropriate time to come. They come one after another in perfect sequence. Hence, me running in & out of the kitchen to bring the food and then back to the kitchen with the glasses and then out again with refills. Phew, sufficient to say that by 4pm that day, I am almost flat and ready to kong out and sleep.
3rd and 4th day nothing much happened. It rained alot & I was feeling too lazy to go anywhere or even attempt to go anywhere. All I seem to be doing is read story book, blog, watch astro, eat and sleep! I wonder if that is how I managed to gain 1kg during the CNY. I guess after this, I better be diligent and jump start my exercise routine. Ermm...and increase the frequency and variety from just aerobic to yoga, swimming and jogging. And of course back to low carb and high protein diet. OOii... FRIENDS, remind me ah whenever we go out for lunch or dinner...pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Last but not least, muaks & hugs for the rat year!
ps. I hate rat. CANT we call them hamster or something like that?

Beyond Caring
I finally tell my dad about the job offer from KL. He didnt say much except whether the salary is enough to cover the living expenses or not. Also what are the benefit. I think I get away from this with similar feeling as Didi on one of her posting Confusion Conversation & Decision. What I get from this conversation with my dad, ermm..nothing much. I do not know how he will feel if I accept the job and actually go to KL to start work in Apr08. The conversation goes like this:
Jen: Dad, I got a job offer from a company in KL
Dad: What salary and benefits they offer?
Jen: Not bad I think, RMXXXX and guaranteed 1 month bonus as 13th month salary
Dad: Enough or not RMXXXX. Not much ler that salary if work in KL
Jen: But that is salary even some managers cant get
Dad: Sure or not
Jen: I think it is not bad
Dad: Silence
Jen stare at dad
Dad: Wah, today talking about oyster omelette <---he watch Astro ~>_<~
Guess that is the end of the conversation about this topic. So, I am not very sure how dad feel about this but at least he didnt out right and say dont go. So, once I am ready to hand in my letter to my boss, I will tell my dad again the day before I do that just so that he knows I am serious about this. Of course, once my mom knows about this too, I am expecting world war III in my house.
Either my mom will start screaming nonstop for many days and making it impossible to stay in the house for longer than a few hours, or we will all become deaf and cant hear much. But eventually mom will have to accept that I intend to do this and I am a 31 year old lady that does not require mom approval but I rather have her blessing of course. It will sure make life alot easier and more pleasant. As I said, mom is super protective and dad is more understanding.
OK, I am blabbing on and on again it seems. Sorry about this if you are bored with all this but frankly speaking, I dont care:P hahaha....

Living in a small world...
Today is the 2nd day of CNY and here I am at 8.30pm and feeling so sleepy that I cant hardly keep my eyes open. So, please forgive me if the words sound a little incoherent or have too many typo. At this point, I am just too lazy to do any editing. Ermm, seems that I been saying I am lazy very often recently dont I? I wonder why? I mean, by nature, I am not the type of gal that can just sit still and stare into nothing. I must have something to do or else I will feel as if the time is at stand still.
But recently, all I feel like doing is curl up in bed with my big pink Watson stuffed dog and sleep the day away or just lie down doing nothing and let the mind wander to whatever and wherever. I dont even feel like reading much or watching tv. Not sure what this is a sign of but occasionally when I have the sudden enlightenment, I will feel like changing and stop procrastinating. Or maybe I am just over-doing things and it is my body way of telling me to slow down? Or could it be because I have not been exercising for the pass 2-3weeks?
Speaking of exercising, people are always talking about how small the world is. Well, today I got first hand experience on how small it is. Apparently, my bro who is a teacher had a new colleague recently, just 2 weeks. And today the colleague together with his wife and kids visited us. I was in the kitchen getting the drinks and curry for the guests (as usual). And I can hear mom chatting with the wife rather animated. (Mom can be anyone best friend in 5 minutes. She can even chat like old friend with the person behind her at the cashier counter. When we ask mom if she know the lady, she will say no and she been talking to her for more than half hour! hahaha..)
When I came out with the drinks, the wife looks very familiar. Then I realised that she is actually the instructor at the aerobic classes that I been going to! Some people say that there is no such thing as coincidence. But I say, there is no fate without coincidence. Think back to how you meet your partner. I mean, there are billion and trillion people all over the world. And there are hundreds and hundreds of people in your own backyard. So, how come of all this people, you managed to meet the one person that you are willing to live the rest of your life with. And what more, to have kids and raise them together? If the two of you have not coincidentally met and let fate do the rest of the work, then I am not sure what you call it.
Oh boy, I think the holiday and laziness really is getting to me and making me philosophical. Right, I better stop my yapping and nonsense...for now anyways. hehehe..

Cant Upload PIC
GGGRRR..something is wrong with either blogspot or my connection. I cant seem to upload any of the pictures I took this morning of the cookies! Haiyah, and I thought I can goof off abit today at work since already holiday mood. Note that I said, holiday mood and not Chinese New Year mood. No CNY mood. Maybe because this year I only take Monday off and not take leave before or after the CNY holiday? Or maybe because my babe is in KL this year? But that should not be it. He also not in Kuching everywhere during CNY ler. He will go back to Sri Aman to celebrate CNY with his Ah Ma and Ah Gong, both already 90+ if I remember correctly.
Anyway, since I cant post any pic of mickey mouse wishing you all happy CNY, I will just do this:

This cookie is unlike normal type of cookies that is sweet with lots of sugar. Instead, the recipe does not call for any sugar at all. Hence, it is might be suitable for those with diabetes but do be careful as the recipe has flour which can also increase the sugar level in blood.
The recipe:
250gm Butter
600gm flour
250gm grated cheddar cheese
1 teaspoon black pepper
1.5 teaspoon salt
1/3cup fresh milk
How:
1. Mix flour, grated cheddar cheese, black pepper, salt and butter in a large bowl. Mix them well. 2. You can use your hand or the mixer at low speed. You should be getting crumble texture at this time.
3. Mix in the fresh milk and knead.
4. The dust the table and rolling pin slightly.
5. Take 1/3 of the dough and knead into a ball.
6. Flatten out on the dusted table using the rolling pin.

Unfortunately blogspot keep showing error message when I try to upload the pic. Jiak lak, lazy to try again. Already try so many times. Will share the pictures next time ^_^

The Reunion Day Morning
Happy Chinese New Year Eve! Feeling abit crazy now and in holiday mood. The office is so empty and even the parking space is half empty. I came to work one half hour late today. Nope, not cannot wake up but as compensation and time-off for coming really early last Friday for conference call with customer.
Guess only few crazy people like us will come to work on the eve of Chinese New Year. It is either that or we are the lucky ones that did not have to prepare or cook for the reunion dinner. Will be going to my aunts house later in the evening with my family. Not going to cook anything to bring there. Instead, will be bringing one roasted duck and chicken that dad bought from Hong Kong Noodle House in Seberkas.
And the nicest part is my boss already announced that we can all go back at 3pm today if there is nothing urgent! WOOHOO!!! So, today I start work at 9.30am, lunch at 11.30am to 12.30pm and then go back at 3pm! SO NICEEEE! So, maybe I will make my no-bake cheesecake after going back from work later but I will need to go to Everise BDC to get the Marie biscuit for the crust first. Totally forgotten about that! I wonder if I have time to make the chocolate cheesecake too later. Oh well, we will see. No rush. After all, not much to do after coming back from the reunion dinner except to wait for 12 midnight.
Woke up at 6am today (Yah, I am crazy!). My parents, bro and sis woke up at 5.45am! They went out at 6am to buy some roast pork and meat. And I actually managed to get my lazy butt out of the bed at 6am to bake 2 types of cookies, i.e. Pineapple Tart and Cheddar Cheese Cookie.
I prepared the pineapple balls yesterday and rolled them into tiny balls so that it is easier to handle today. If you want to make long shaped tart, just roll the jam into long roll and cut them using the knife. For the pineapple tart recipe, click here. Cheddar Cheese Cookie is another recipe that my family likes. This is actually something that is more healthy especially for my dad who have diabetes. Salty and not sweet at all. All in all, the baking took about two half hours. Actually, rather surprised by this as I thought it would take longer.
All this baking and friends calling for the no-bake cheesecake recipe makes me think of my old time dream to set up my own bakery. But alas, those remain as a dream, for now anyways. Perhaps in the future I might consider taking up Ashop which offer complete solution to online ecommerce software business owner and merchants. I guess I can try them since they claim to be the leading provider to host the shopping cart software. I just hope that when I actually do start to sell my goodies online, the shopping cart will not act up especially for someone that is not computer savvy like myself!
Anyway, Happy Chinese New Year to all and may you have a good rest during the new year. And also may the God of Prosperity be kind to you and bestow upon you all the richness that you desire. Hugs & Kisses!
