Go or not? Go or not? Haiyaaa..I am so lazy la!! Big J-card sales here at 1u today and the crowd is really crazy. It seems that everyone is taking leave to go shopping. The place is super crowded. During lunchtime just now, after a quick lunch (so that give chance for other people to sit la), we went for a walk at the departmental store lor. It is the floor with all the kitchenware, bedroom stuff and electrical goods. Wahh, really scary la. Want to see something also keep get knocked around by other people there.
The worse is the queue to pay. There are many counters but hor, the queue is so long that it is actually snaking around all the goods on display. And for half hour, the line just moved about 2meter! Imagine that. The line can easily be 20meters! So, you can understand that why I am feeling lazy to go after work for shopping. Babe want to go. He say want to see the watch and men's wear! Can I tell him I wait for him outside with my book! HAHAHA! Yar, world upside down. Guys more interested in shopping than girls.
Well, the thing is, I know I have nothing that I absolutely need. So, whatever things that I get later would most likely be what I want. If it is something I need, I would have a shopping list for it right? The only regret I have is that I shouldnt have bought the microwave so soon la. Or else I could get at least 7 pieces of the RM10 vouchers from Jusco. Guess I know better la. Next time when want (note the word is want and not need) to get any electrical goods, wait for the J-card sale. (Am I confusing myself with the need and want? haha)
My next want is a stove. One of those modern ones, cant remember what they call them. But since I am not staying at my own place, i.e. still rented place, no point to get that and revamp the kitchen with cupboards and stuff. Although I really mengidam (dreaming) a really nice kitchen that some of the apartment at my place now have for rent. But the rental is easily RM100-150 more than the one we are renting now lor. So, not worth paying more just to get more storage place.
Anyway, hope to check out some baking trays and stuff. If can, want to see if have anything that I can use in my attempt to make the Sarawak Kek Lapis (Sarawak Layered Cake). So tempted after seeing all those colorful photos on some of the website. Hopefully, I can try to make some simple design. Of course, this is just say only. Dont know if I will actually bake the cake! Very time consuming and I been feeling very tired recently. So, if you see the photos, then u know I bake it already. If not, it remains a plan only lor!!

A True Story?
Not sure how true is this but worth being careful lor:
Dear Friends,
I would like to share a life saving incident that all our loved ones needs to be aware.
Last Saturday, 11th April 2009, my girlfriend and I were in Mid Valley The Gardens for a movie. We finished around 8.40pm. I had parked my car just right above the GSC Signature Cinema on the 5th floor.. As we were getting into our car, we realized that the parking fee had not been paid. We decided to stop by the Auto pay station on the lower parking level to do the payment. We drove 2 floors down and couldn'tt locate the Auto Pay Station. We decided to park our car at 2nd floor wondering if there should be a pay station in the mall at the lobby area. My girlfriend decided to wait in the car as she was on the phone. was walking into the mall looking for an Auto Pay Station, failing to find one, I decided to walk 1 floor down. About minutes time, my girlfriend called me on my mobile phone and she sounded terrified . She was shouting for help. She told me that there is a guy who is trying to get into the car. The guy was trying to get into the car very calmly, pretending getting into his own car. He failed to open and refuses to continue trying as he noticed that she was on the phone calling for help. Luckily, she had locked the door just right after I got out earlier. I run up as quickly as possible to reach her. The moment I reached to the parking area, I saw the guy walking away slowly from the car. He was walking towards the ramp heading to the upper level. As I ran up the ramp, though I could still see him I realized that I was running away from my car again. It could be teamwork just to divert my presence from my car. I got back to my girlfriend quickly to calm her down. We made an official report to the Mid Valley security management to
investigate on the CCTV. It was a lesson learned for us to be more careful in the parking zones. Im happy that my girlfriend is still here with me today. Please be watchful in parking zones.

Early morning in CNY eve
10.09am, sitting in my livingroom in a daze. Thinking whether I should go back to sleep or chop up the stuff and prepare them to cook later in the evening. At this moment, I am tempted to just sit here and do nothing. I might be more awake and myself in awhile after my hot tea and crackers, I hope. Can't blame me for feeling so blur. I woke up at 7.30am. I know I know, you might say so what but I only went to bed at 3.30am! So, that is about 4 hours of sleep?
Actually, I woke up 10min before 7.30am. How I know? Because I set the alarm to wake up at 7.30am but before the alarm goes off, I am wide awake! So, off I go to the wet market at bandar menjalara. Bought whatever I need. I thought by going super early, I can (1) avoid the car traffic jam and easier to find parking, (2) avoid the human jam and have more leisure in buying the stuff and (3) more choice and hence better choice. But guess what,it is only true for number 1.
By the time I arrive the wet market, it was already 7.45am. At first, there were not as many cars around as last week. And so, I thought, ok, this is good. The entire population is not awake yet. OK OK, not entire population but at least 99% is not awake yet right? Little did I know how deceptive it is. People must have either walked from their house nearby or something. The place is so crowded that people are actually pushing each other to get through. The air was so humid and hot that I actually feel like screaming!
So, instead of taking leisure walk through the wet market, I went in, got what I need, and went out! At first, laden with all my shopping list, I wanted to leave the things in the car and then go back for a walk. But after thinking of what I need to do back home today, I thought otherwise and just got into my car and drive home. (Of course, the urgent call to go to washroom helps to make up the mind!! hahaha)
Anyway, babe still sleeping and I still have lots to do. I guess I better get started and chop the garlic, ginger, onions, etc.
p/s: Watching Anthony Bourdain on 707 and he is talking to this guy, a tattoo artist in KL who claim to be a full pledge Iban from Kuching. He enlighten me that Iban is one of the oldest tribe in Malaysia. HHmmmm....so this is the reason the Ibans or Dayaks are under the category of bumiputra (direct translation prince of land) because they are basically the first few people to be here. And this include the orang asli (direct translation original people). They are the natives of the land. Now I understand better. But this got me thinking, why is that OTHER race (I think you know which one?) that we have here being called bumiputra???? Not being racist lar but just my 2-cent-worth-of-thoughts.

CNY eve List...
Ladeedum ..ladeedum...Thursday...lalalala...It has been a pretty lazy week so far! Except for Monday and yesterday morning, the rest of the week has been extremely slow. So slow that I actually become a big dragon and went to take walks for 'fresh air'. Actually spent alot of time in the office pantry as well yesterday. Not intentionally but somehow or rather, when girls start chatting, we just lost our sense of time, I guess. I think next week will be even worse because most of the colleagues will be on leave the whole week AND so will most of my vendors. I think I will bring some movies or books here!!
Hmm, found out yesterday that the friend whom we are suppose to be doing the cny eve bbq with is planning for the bbq to be on Saturday, i.e. the day before the eve of cny! This is the first time I hear that people can actually celebrate the reunion dinner the day before the eve of the actual day. I mean, the whole idea is pretty much similar to celebrating new year. When want to usher in the new year, you will do it on the 31 Dec of every year. So, when want to usher in the CNY, logical mind will say lets do it on the EVE of cny, i.e. the norm that everyone practises.
Anyway, since the bbq is not at our place, so, we have not much say in it. Babe and I am planning a simple celebration of our own at our place on Sunday. I need to plan what to cook. So far, this is what I have:
1. Prawn (either steamed or stirfried like I did previously)
2. Pork (definitely must have! Wonder if I can get roast pork at the wet market this Sunday morning. If dont have, I guess I will do pak lor pork?)
3. Mixed vegetable (lots and lots of brocolli and button mushrooms)
4. Steam fish (ermm..can get white prompet or not ah??)
5. Mixed pork soup (just throw whatever you want in this and wah lah!)
6. Roast/ smoked chicken (depend on whether babe want to fire up the bbq pit or not to make smoke)
7. Roast duck (I like roast duck but babe dont. So, we seldom have this)
8. Lamb (although I am not sure how to cook this yet! Might just go get lamb shank at Jusco)
I know, for the 2 of us, really alot but babe is thinking of inviting his friends over lar. I dont mind since other than celebrating valentine's day, I seriously believe that other celebrations should always be with family and/or friends. Whatever leftover, we will just store them in the freezer. Should be able to last for ages and still maintain the taste.
I have also invited my office colleagues to come over to the apartment for lunch on Monday. Planning to cook Sarawak laksa. One of babe's friend gave me an idea though. I might cook chinese red wine chicken soup with mee suah (i.e. long life noodles). Or maybe I should cook both just case some people dont take the laksa. Need to ask babe whether his colleagues will be coming. I might as well cook more on that day one go and clean up once after that. Much easier!
Yah, as you can see, started to get abit excited but not really also. The shopping mall was still very empty yesterday although cny was just a few days away. Perhaps people has not get their pay and the school not yet holiday? Or maybe most people took off the whole of next week, so not much time to go shopping this week yet. Then, this would mean that this Saturday and Sunday would be a very busy place at 1u. Perhaps I should just get my lamb shank first tomorrow from Jusco and keep in the fridge. Hhmm....

My Super Busy Weekend
Hhmm...glad to be sitting down and resting finally. This has been a very busy weekend. Mostly is because we have not buy anything for the Chinese New Year that is just one week away. And it seems that most of the people has not done that as well. Babe and I actually started our shopping since Friday night, right after work. Initially, we wanted to go on Thursday night but was feeling lazy. So, decided to just go back and eat at home.
On Friday, we went to Ikea, mainly just to see what is available on sale there for Chinese New Year. We were there last weekend but the place was simply to crowded and decided not to join the the crowd. Babe and I was never very much a crowd-people person. In the past, we even take holidays during off-peak season and sacrificing our annual leaves just so that we don't visit places with crowds.
Anyway, I have digress. So we go to Ikea with the intention of getting some CNY decoration and perhaps cookies that Ikea been promoting. Babe was thinking of looking at the threee-sitter-sofa just to compare prices (although he should know very well that Ikea sofas are super pricey compared to out furniture shop). Then lo-and-behold, we see the Paong chair on promotion, usual price RM299, promotion price at the time was RM259. Of course, he have to get it immediately lar.
Actually, I was planning to surprise him next month and get him the chair for valentine's day. But since it was on promotion, I paid for it and told him, "For valentine ah!" hahaha.... But I can see he was pretty happy and excited about the chair. What more, 25 years warranty, not bad. There was also a dining table on promotion for member, i.e. Ikea credit card owner lar. Less by RM100 and been looking for a affordable dining table anyway. So, applied for the card and the people at the counter agreed to let us use the counter card since my card will take 2-3weeks to process.
Saturday, I woke up early, babe slept till about 11am. After that, I basically bully him into waking..oops, I mean seduce and persuade (?) him to wake up because we need to go Taman Megah to meet one of my ex-colleague in Kuching. He just got a new job in KL and came last Saturday with his wife and kids. So, I thought I better intro him to places to find Sarawak food!HAHAHA! Crazy me!
After that, we went to CArrefour at Subang. As expected, the place is so crowded that we basically have no mood to buy anything. So, after that, went to the Harvey Norman electrical warehouse sales. We were hoping that there is affordable microwave at superb bargain. Instead, there were ABSOLUTELY nothing interesting to us. The so call electrical warehouse sales were basically selling LCD tv and sound systems. Babe thinks they are trying to get rid of their old stocks. So, nothing interesting there except seeing a young lady suddenly fainting right in front of us! No idea why but since so many people around to help her, babe and I proceed to our car.
We decided to go to Giant at Kota Damansara after that. Told you we were crazy. From one hypermarket to another. We went to the 2nd floor first to scout for electrical goods. We were debating whether to get an oven or a microwave. In the end, we decided not to get the oven since will seldom use it. Most likely will only bake once in a blue moon! Instead, we decided to save up to get a good quality microwave.
Then, it was off to the supermarket downstairs to get the goodies. Since have decided not to get the oven, then no baking, which mean that we need to BUY the cookies for cny. Giant have pretty large selection but not in the type that I want. Bought plenty of titbits though and I am pretty sure babe will be having lots of fun with them!
Today, Sunday, again I woke up early, around 9am and decided to go the wet market this week instead of next week in hope that the crowd this week will not be too bad. I should have known that if I think of it this way, others will have the same idea too. The market was so crowded that at some part, you actually stand still for a few minutes just to wait for the human traffic jam to clear up. Since I was alone, I just got whatever that we needed and moved on.
By the time I am done with the marketing, my arms and fingers are sore from carrying so many kilos! So much so that I am starting to wish that I accepted babe offer to buy me those trolley that people use to go market with. Then I wish that I bullied babe to wake up and go to the market with me. But all those wishing was too late. Instead, I take a deep deep breath, stopped a few times to put the heavy plastic bags on the floor and take another deep breath, pick up the bags and move on to my car.
There were actually plenty of things to see at the market but instead of taking my time and checking out for good bargains, I just buy what I can see and breeze on home. Once home, I discovered that babe woke up a few moments after I went out. Geez, if I known that, I would have bullied him to wake up and go with me. More fun to go together than alone mar! At first, I thought I will cook us American brunch but babe have other ideas it seems. He wants banana leaf rice that I have been promoting to him!
After that, somehow, he managed to convinced me to go 1U. I cannot even remember why we decided to go 1U. All I know is that he wanted to go there but I was lazy. So, he found ways to convinced (tricked lar) me to go again! Sheeshhhhh.... Always like that. The reason I was lazy to go was because there were still alot of housework to do mar. And then there was his ironing to do for him. Where got mood to go for long walks at the malls lar? Anyway, didnt really go out super late.
Reached the parking at the apartment around 5.30pm. Saw some orang asli staying in the protected jungle near our place selling durians at the roadside. Since no reason to be on a super strict diet and not having durians for so long, bought some. And at the same time, ask the orang asli if she do not mind plucking me a bundle of tapioca leaf this coming Saturday. To my joy, she agreed! So, next week, I can cook the tapioca leaf with pork.
Will be having bbq on cny eve at one of babe's friend's place. So, will be bringing that and also pork for bbq. Am thinking whether want to bring some mixed vegetable as well. We will still cook some food at home to eat during lunch and mainly as a symbol of abundance for the new year. Planning to steam fish, mixed vegetable, some kind of pork dish, fried or roast chicken (maybe get one for 1u?), prawn, roast duck if if I can find any. Perhaps I will go to the wet market again in next Saturday just to get those roasted food stuff and fish.
Right, enough for now. 10.30pm already. Almost time to sleep :)

Will be having bbq on cny eve at one of babe's friend's place. So, will be bringing that and also pork for bbq. Am thinking whether want to bring some mixed vegetable as well. We will still cook some food at home to eat during lunch and mainly as a symbol of abundance for the new year. Planning to steam fish, mixed vegetable, some kind of pork dish, fried or roast chicken (maybe get one for 1u?), prawn, roast duck if if I can find any. Perhaps I will go to the wet market again in next Saturday just to get those roasted food stuff and fish.
Right, enough for now. 10.30pm already. Almost time to sleep :)

Tesco near Ikea sucks!
Sigh~ I am so tired today despite the fact that I actually slept till 11am yesterday and then took 2-3 hours afternoon nap at around 3pm. I got back from Penang on Saturday afternoon on the 3.20pm flight and arrived promptly at KLIA at 4.15pm. The flight actually took off on time for a change. The taxi queue was really long though and only managed to get on the taxi around 4.45pm and reached home around 5.40pm. I was very tired and babe was sure glad to see me, all huggy and kissy :P
Anyway, he also promptly told me that we are going to his friend's house at Puchong for BBQ and we need to leave by 7pm since we need to go to the Giant Hypermarket near the house to get softdrinks for the bbq. So, there goes my plan to laze around at home and take a nap or something like that. We only arrive home from the bbq at around 1.30am. So, after keeping the groceries and took bath, it was already 2-3am on Sunday morning. So, you really can't blame me for waking up at 11am.
Actually, I woke up once at 9.30am thinking that it must be super late already because the sun was shining so brightly through the bedroom window. But since we don't bring our handphone into the bedroom on weekends (generally unless we set the alarm) and we do not have a clock in the room, I only realised it is 9.30am when I went to the living room. Lazy to go into the bedroom again, I decided to crash on the sofa. Babe must have felt extremely lonely in bed because he actually woke me up at around 10am and basically dragged me to the bed.
Anyway, we decided to go Tesco near Ikea last night to check the price of rice there. It seems that the price of rice actually gone up instead of coming down. I was under the impression that hypermarket will reduce their prices in line with the government calling to reduce inflation? Or did I understand wrongly? Hmm... Anyway, we decided that since the normal AAA white rice is so expensive, we might as well do ourself a favor and try the healthier type of rice, i.e. brown rice. In the end, we bought 5kg of Jasmine sunwhite rice and 1kg of brown rice.
Around 9pm, we decided we bought all the things that we need and proceed to the cashier counter, i.e. the normal thing that you do right? Should not be something that is worth mentioning right? Well, last night, was the first time that I experienced this. Our groceries actually came up to about RM58.75 and I gaven the cashier 2 pieces of RM50, i.e. total @ RM100.
This is also normal but when the cashier receive the money, she actually only punched in RM60 and as usual, this cashier are pretty fast at this and I think nothing of it as I thought she will just calculate the difference in her brain and returned me RM41.25. Imagine my surprise when she only returned me RM1.25. I, of course, promptly told her that I gave her RM100 but imagine my shock when she insist that I gave her RM60, i.e. 1 piece of RM50 and 1 piece of RM10.
Normally, I might have doubt myself and thought maybe because I am tired, I might have made a mistake and gave her 1 RM50 and 1 RM10. But last night, I was very sure I gave her 2 pieces of RM50 because before she start barcodding the groceries, babe gave me RM50 and I promptly put it into my purse with my other RM50. After explaining what happened, the supervisor promptly closed the counter and said that she need to do spotcheck. Babe asked, why need spotcheck. You have CCTV near the cashier, why waste time to check and count the cash in the register. It it faster if you just check the cctv. However, the supervisor gave some lame excuse about it takes longer to access the cctv and proceed to start counting the cash there. After counting once, she told me that the cashier is actually short by RM8. I said no and insist she count it again. Only after counting it again, she realised that the actually mis-counted the RM50 and without a word of apology, return the RM40 to me. It is as if I am the one making the mistake?
I was so angry after that. I know the cashier is human and human makes mistakes. Although I got my money back, I was still very unhappy because, 1. The problem could have been resolved faster if they just checked the cctv, 2. When doing spotcheck and counting the money, should do so more carefully and more than once before informing customer that no shortage and 3. APOLOGISE when discover error. The cashier did not even look sorry and the supervisor didn't say a single word of apology or look sorry. It is as if this is normal and routine to them.
I normally do not like to create a scene but last night, I did not say no when babe say lets go make an official complain at the customer service counter. We only finally got back on around 10pm when if there is no problem, we could have arrived home around 9pm-ish. Anyway, babe told me in the car that he suspect one of the guy actually when to take a peek at the cctv because he overheard the guy telling the supervisor that it is 100. I did not hear anything but did saw a guy go near the supervisor and told her something which caused the supervisor face to change slightly. Sort of like a mask going over the face when someone have something to hide.
When we analyse the situation in the car on the way back, I think the cashier realised her mistake when she open her cash register to show me that I gave her RM50 + RM10 because like all cash register, the slots to put different denomination of money are segregated. So, if the cashier got 2 different denomination such as RM50 and RM10, then she need to put the money in 2 different slots. Where as if only 2 pieces of RM50, then it is only in one slot in the cash register. Also, I think suspect they DID check the cctv but refuse to tell us what they saw on the cctv because that would mean that they have to write an official report to their manager?
So, all I know is that if there is a Giant hypermarket near where I stay, I will definitely not visit Tesco for my groceries anymore unless there is items that I really need on super cheap promotion. By the way, I think the things at Tesco are more expensive compared to Giant. I am not doing a promotion or advertisement for Giant but just stating what I observed.

BEAUTIFUL OR EMBARASSING SUNDAY?
PHEW! What a weekend! Met up with Rose at Kelana Jaya station and we proceed to our friend stall at Taman Megah for Laksa Sarawak and tomato kueh teow and crispy noodles. Sat there for about an hour while waiting for another friend, T to meet up with us there before we go off to ss2 area for bridal shop hunting! We started hunting at 2pm and only finished at about 5.30pm. Three and half hours and guess how many bridal shops we managed to go to? THREE! Yup, only three!! How can that be???
Negotiation and testing of the gown and so forth, on average, each shop takes about one hour. And let me tell you, it is super exhausting but was finally, able to find one that is reasonable and more gown choices. Not an easy task especially for someone like me :( . Haiyaaa, Didi, regret didn't continue with aerobic now ....
Anyways, all the three bridal shop prices are pretty similar for the package that we are looking for. I guess you say that the price are reasonable. The difference is the extras/freebies thrown in as well the the gown selection. Basically, almost decided already and will be taking this package at Love Vision Bridal Shop. Reason for selecting the place? The price is ok lar and package is pretty standard but the gown selection and profesionalism impressed me though.

photo album x 2, 1 slightly bigger than A4 (25 post) and another is A4 (20 post) all 45 is different post.
3 table top with frame
1 5R + leather frame for table top

1 outdoor photoshoot at PJ or KL area and the rest will be either in the studio garden or in the studio itself.

Groom:
unlimited coat to match the gown

There is a package for RM2388 and the only different is the photo album. The album will be 1 x A4 size with 25post and a smaller album (I think 4 or 5R) with the same post as the big album. If want both to be different post, then need to add RM800 and they will upgrade the album to 1xA4 size (20 post) and the other one is slightly bigger than A4 (25post). But based on recommendation from Rose and T, they say might as well choose 2 album with DIFFERENT post because it will be so difficult to just choose 25post. Everything seems nice! hahaha...
I know, over my initial budget by about RM1,000 and I was thinking actually of just the RM2388 but babe said just go for the RM3188. I was thinking since the only different is the photo album and the number of post can select mar. But seems that babe don't think so and better just spend the extra lor..... I think he is secretly excited but pretend not to be! HAHA! After our teabreak/early dinner, he even ask what next. More bridal shops hunting? *PENGSAN*
Well at least that is one thing settled. Everyone that we talked to at the bridal shops are surprised that my wedding date is so near and I am just starting to hunt for bridal gown and taking photo. Apparently, it will take at least 1-2 months to get everything done. So, assuming that the photo shoot is early Oct08, I will only be able to view them in 2-3weeks time. Then choose and they will then make it into the album and photo frame. Then collect it early Dec08. Super rush lor but nevermind lar. Not too late *GRIN*
Photoshoot itself will take a day. Hopefully, there will still be empty slots on Saturdays or Sundays. If not, I will need to take 1 day unpaid leave for this. Which reminds me, I have not submit my leave request for my two weeks leave end of year yet. Although, I did inform my immediate boss and the purpose. I guess I am procrastinating because I know that the moment I submit my leave form, basically, the whole company will know! Not keen to let everyone in the company know yet lar, SHY MAR!!!! BLUEK!
I still need to look for my bridesmaid's gown. Most likely need to ask Didi to look in Kuching since the gown at the bridal shop are made for bride and not suitable for bridesmaid. Must remember to ask T to recommend some place. Or, if I find something here that I think looks good, I might just buy them here. I keep having this vision in my head for Didi though. A thigh length babydoll dress made of soft satin in either off-white, ivory or soft/pastel pink! I think something like that will cost around RM100-200? Hei, Didi, what do you think?
Also need to look for something to wear for the tea ceremony at my house. I wonder what I should wear? Something simple right? But definite NOT CHEONGSAM! NO WAY! Hhhmm..another dress? JIAK LAK, more $$$$$. Not forgetting back in Kuching, other than the wedding dinner reception bill, got the car deco bill, the makeup and hairdo bill, the church deco bill, liquor & beer for wedding dinner and the list goes on!
And also hunt for shoes. (Us gals and shoes, one of the most important thing in our life ok!) This will really depend to the wedding gown and evening gown. If the wedding gown is ivory, cannot get white mar! If it is white, cannot get ivory or off-white! And if dinner gown is maroon, cannot get blue shoes right???? Or if it gold color, cannot wear silver color shoes mar! Hopefully, won't face the headache I hear my friends faced in their quest to hunt for the perfect shoe. I hear there are some rules that cannot wear strap-y shoes and must wear cover all. I hate those kind of shoes!~
Thank god the gown I saw so far does not need me to get my own corset since the pattern is corset style. And no accessories needed since all will be provided and matching stuff,etc. Babe, I am looking forward to see you in all white! My prince charming in white and me in the wedding gown with super long train! WAHH...already dreaming....(sure nice sleep and dream tonight. Not even my sadistic bigman can spoil it!)
In all this, babe surprised me with one thing. I thought he won't have any opinion and be very bored following us, 3 gals hunting for gown. But he actually said for church wedding gown, must have those with long train! Abit only not enough. Long train than look nice walking down the aisle at church!!! WAHH!! That mean that he actually ever envision how the wedding will be! I always thought it is only the girls that dream all this thing. Never know my babe is SOOO ROMANTIC! MELT OR NOT? :P
Oh yah, another thing to remember for those that goes for bridal shop hunting with the intention to try the gowns, make sure that you wear your nicer bra and panties! And, err...be prepared to expose yourself (top lar) to the lady there who will be helping you with the gown! I know, I know, they must have seen more than their share but they have never seen mine mar! EMBARASSING OK!! But I can foresee more 'man-handling' during fitting session and photoshoot. *SHAKE HEAD & SIGH* The things that we gals endure for the most important day of our live!

Used Furniture
I got my sofa! I got my sofa! neh Neh neh~!! Hahaha! Yah, babe and I finally can collect our sofa from the apartment nearby and bring it to our house. Actually, we were planning to collect it since last weekend but it has been raining almost every evening (yar, me and my God of Thunder and Rain, I think we need to talk.) We initially planned to wait till tonight and collect it. But the lady owner said since it was such a clear and beautiful evening, we better collect them yesterday. Just in case in rain again tonight.
Her new sofa are coming in Saturday morning. So you can imagine how anxious she was to make sure that out with the old and then in with the new! We reached home around 6.45pm and was planning to leave for her place at around 7pm but then it started to drizzle. WAH! How the lady owner worried. Luckily, the rained stopped at around 8pm. And off we go, dragging the trolley noisily onto the road to the next apartment.
And man, was it noisy! I bet as we pass the apartments, people staying in it must have wonder what stampede just gone thru! It was that noisy. The kind of consistent kling klang kling klang that gives you the beginning of a headache. And when it finally stop making the racket, we actually go AH and sigh with contentment! Anyway, the lady owner turn out to be a super super nice lady. Helped us move the sofa all the way back to our apartment.
She even start donating her stuff to us and throw in freebies for the sofa! GOSH! I never thought I will find someone so nice nearby. She even offered to donate her old curtains and another set of sofa cover to me when she or her maid can find it. She gave all those small pillows she have on her sofas and initially intended to give everything she used to decorate to sofa to me. She said she even bought a big plastic bag to cover the sofa for us so that it won't get dirty when we transport it!
Oh, and she promised to bring me with her to the nearby wet market the next time she goes! I am abit overwhelmed and surprised as I always thought West Malaysian are super busy people that does not care much about social ethics? OOpps! Did I offend anyone? What I am trying to say is, I understand that the phase of life here is super fast and everyone trying to make the most out of their day. And hence, have not much time to build relationship such as friendship with new people.
But I am glad to report that so far, from work place to neighbors, everyone is actually friendly! And super nice! Alamak! I just realised that the lady owner was at our apartment for quite awhile but I forgot to offer her any drinks! HAHAHA! But we did have a good chat!
Oh yah, anyone looking for a rather unique custom-made coffee table, please let me know. The lady owner want to let it go. The coffee table is dark brown with custom-made glass-top. In the table itself, there are actually some rather nice miniature stuff. So, it is actually rather nice which need to be seen to be appreciated. Babe and I am not very good at appreciating such things but anyone that is looking for collectibles, this is a good piece!
The lady is also selling other pieces of furnitures as well, dining tables, cupboards, fridge and so on. Her stuff are all very well kept and love. Really well taken care of. There is hardly any scratch on her furnitures eventhough she have one kid! So, if you are interested, click here.
So, I have my sofa!! YAHOO!! And I must say, it looks bigger than I initially thought. It is now dominating almost one whole site of the wall in the living room. And the computer monitor looks rather small and weird next to it. So, next month quest? A TV and TV rack perhaps but need to budget properly first. For now, we are still happy with our monitor and computer tv ^_^.
WAH!! Cant wait till the day is over. I want to dash out of the office promptly at 6pm today! I don't care if I have to wait in the lobby for babe for half hour. Just want to get the weekend started one way or another. In fact, we are already planning for lunch today. We were planning to go Izzy at Uptown but not sure if we can since there is not enough cars to transport us at the moment.
I as usual, no car and the girl colleague that usually drives, not driving today. So, we might just have something nearby but still pricey stuff! Some Italian food or something like that! Stuff ourselves silly and then come back to the office to nod off in front of the computer after that! But then, again, who cares! It is Friday! YAHOO!
Oh man~! This is definitely not healthy. Every week looking forward to the weekends. Jumping up and down (literally!) when it is finally Friday and can say THANK GOD IT'S FRIDAY!!!!
Her new sofa are coming in Saturday morning. So you can imagine how anxious she was to make sure that out with the old and then in with the new! We reached home around 6.45pm and was planning to leave for her place at around 7pm but then it started to drizzle. WAH! How the lady owner worried. Luckily, the rained stopped at around 8pm. And off we go, dragging the trolley noisily onto the road to the next apartment.
And man, was it noisy! I bet as we pass the apartments, people staying in it must have wonder what stampede just gone thru! It was that noisy. The kind of consistent kling klang kling klang that gives you the beginning of a headache. And when it finally stop making the racket, we actually go AH and sigh with contentment! Anyway, the lady owner turn out to be a super super nice lady. Helped us move the sofa all the way back to our apartment.
She even start donating her stuff to us and throw in freebies for the sofa! GOSH! I never thought I will find someone so nice nearby. She even offered to donate her old curtains and another set of sofa cover to me when she or her maid can find it. She gave all those small pillows she have on her sofas and initially intended to give everything she used to decorate to sofa to me. She said she even bought a big plastic bag to cover the sofa for us so that it won't get dirty when we transport it!
Oh, and she promised to bring me with her to the nearby wet market the next time she goes! I am abit overwhelmed and surprised as I always thought West Malaysian are super busy people that does not care much about social ethics? OOpps! Did I offend anyone? Himalaya Anti Dandruff
I finally had it with the dandruff! No matter how I wash my hair, somehow, the very next day, I can see dandruff and the hair get super oily by evening too. I was using Rejoice Anti-Dandruff shampoo but it seems to have very little effect. I was already thinking of going back to the medicated super expensive shampoo (don't remember the name. The bottle is blue!). Then, DD told me that her friends the Himalaya shampoos are good for dandruff and pretty cheap too, RM18+ per bottle.
By chance, I happened to passby a Himalaya shop while walking to Giant supermarket on Wednesday. I told my dilemma to the lady there and she recommended a few items and the price tag added up to RM50.
This is actually packed in a transparent zip bag. Handy to bring along if you are travelling.
Need to rub this into the scalp and leave it for a few hours. Instruction at the back says best to leave it overnight but I cannot stand the smell. Wash off with the shampoo after one hour! Pretty hard to remove. I need to lather the hair with shampoo two times before it is completely gone.
Not unpleasant smell from this shampoo. In fact, it smells abit like Johnson baby shampoo.
Have not used this yet. But was told to apply to the tip of the hair once or twice a week after the hair is dry from shampooing.
Overall, I am pretty satisfied with the product so far. I washed my hair on Wednesday after applying the oil. Washed my hair too yesterday but this time no oil. So far, no visible dandruff (yar, it was that bad) and no itch! I am glad to say that this is RM50 well spent money!

Mooncakes
Just a short one. Since SK was here the other day and since mooncake festival is almost here, SK has kindly agreed to help me bring back mooncakes for my parents. The mooncake is from Baker's Cottage and I really like the packaging. But the box is pretty big. And since ask SK to bring back, not nice to ask her bring big box mar. Hence, I took out the mooncake from the box and put in a nice paperbag instead.

Finally, a life!
YES! I finally got it! It was hard to believe that I am actually that lucky! I was online the day before yesterday hunting adpost as usual for any interesting bargains. Was especially keeping an eye out for sofa, or more specifically Ikea sofa which has the 10 years warranty. Previously, I did find one but by the time I managed to convince babe to go to Ikea and see the brand new thing AND agree to buy the used sofa, it was too late. The owner sold it already and removed the ad. I have actually lost all hope of finding another one like that. Instead, I talked to myself to settle for something simple but good quality used sofa. Failing that, we will just buy the actual new sofa from Ikea for RM549 *GRIN*.
But two days ago, I saw this ad that stated some furniture for sale, including sofa, sofa and fridge and the address happens to be at the apartment near ours! So, of course immediately I send a sms and hope that I am not too late because the ad was posted four days ago! Then yesterday, the owner called me and we had the usual chit chat of a stranger, awkward! Anyway, at the end of it, I found out that the sofa is actually the Ikea sofa that I been eyeing on and the tv is a 29inch one! Wah imagine my excitement. So, we made arrangement for me to her apartment that night to view the ‘goods’.
Babe of course have a thousand and one questions that I can’t answer such as: why she selling? Is she single? What race is she? How much she want to sell? She have anything else not?She have children? and so on! How I know the answer lar? I not interview her mar. Plus the moment I know what sofa it is, nothing else matters! I just want to go and see and negotiate a price! And also, I am not looking to BUY her, I want to buy her furniture mar! Why do I want to know if she is single. CHEH! Hhmpff!
So off we went last night and I am glad that it was really easy to come to an agreed price! And she even throws in a freebie for us, modern rocking chair that is almost new. Apparently, she is changing her furniture for bigger ones since the family is growing. She actually already ordered the new sofa but have not request the shop to deliver them since no space in the apartment. Hence, she wants to sell off the old ones urgently. She also happens to be a very kind and nice lady with kids by the way. She even offered to find some guys to help carry the sofa with us back to our place this weekend! So, I will be able to post a picture of the new sofa & rocking chair soon! At least, with that, the apartment will look abit more homey!
The next thing on the list is the tv and tv rack. I am also thinking of a long coffee table but that can wait. Also need a water heater in the bathroom but since we can boil water to take bath, for now, that is onhold first too. Still waiting for the confirmation letter from the company and also the increment. Then will go ahead and subscribe to Astro. Babe is dying to watch normal football! Hahaha! We also feel like living under the coconut shell because no updates on world events since no tv to watch news and only get newspaper on weekends.
But need to budget properly first especially since we have big plans for end of the year. Well, actually not our big plans. More like our parents. Got a distinct feeling of being manipulated into it! Remember I was saying that babe and I planned to register first and then push our actual church and dinner reception to next year. Well, babe’s mom called one day and told him the church is booked on 29 Dec, 10am! OMG! That is less than four months away? And nothing is planned or agreed on yet! And the next call was actually to tell babe that there will be 18tables from their side. Need to ask my parents how many from their side. *BREATH HARD!!*
WOW! Steamrolled! Hahaha! But I guess she knows us better than we know ourselves. If it were up to us, we would have just gone back and sign at the registrar office so that we are official husband & wife in the eye of the law. Church and dinner reception will most likely be pushed out indefinitely or until we decided to have children. Talking of children, right after the mother informed us she booked the church on 29 Dec, the first thing that I said to babe was I do not want to have children immediately! I know that would be the next thing our parents will be asking! Like babe’s sis said, they can ask but they cannot plan it for you when to have babies! LOL~ So, no babies for at least the first year of marriage and that is including not getting pregnant. Maybe (big MAYBE) pregnant during the second year (or maybe third year).
Seems like Dec is a long time away but have absolutely NOT prepared anything on my side. We will leave the church and dinner reception arrangement to the parents. As this is a mix-marriage, I have no idea how they will do it. Do we have tea ceremony? Or just go church and then go back home? Do we have specific time for the groom to come pick the bride? Or as long as we get to the church before 10am is fine? What other requirements? I remember when I was sort of helping out with friends wedding Chinese style, there seems to be so many things to prepare for the day itself. So many things to buy for the bride & groom bedroom too. And the car and the things the bride need to bring when the groom come and pick her up and so forth! Oh well, I will leave all this to the parents.
Like I said to my friends, we will go back to attend only! Hahaha! But I am planning to rent the wedding gowns from KL and take wedding photo here. Budget not more than RM2,000 for gown rental and photo, enough or not? My colleague say not enough. At least need RM3,000. But I don’t plan for elaborate wedding photo bah. Just something simple so that I can show my kids in the future that this is your mommie and daddie. Maybe one big one for the wall and then a few small ones. As for gown, one for church, and maybe two for dinner. Should be more than enough right? Also don’t want those big bulky fluffy gown with skirts that you can hide 2-3 people in with room to spare. Am I being to simplistic?
Then, there is the issue of corset, undies, jewelry, shoes and any other items that might be needed. For now, I am trying real hard to keep my head above water and BREATH! Not get me wrong, I am happy and excited but also nervous and worried. After all, it is a once in a lifetime thing. If you have been a frequent reader here, you will know that I am not good at waiting (often looking for the phantoms magic remote control!). I will the day will come and go but while waiting, I just can’t help getting hyped and worked up thinking about the preparation! Oh yah, did I mention how much all this will cost!! *GASP!*

Lets DELETE Monday!
Monday! I wish I can delete that word from the dictionary forever. Or at least un-associate Monday with the word work! Although Monday should be like any other day, but somehow, it is just not my favorite day of the week. Even on Sunday night, I was already sighing away just thinking of going to work the next day. It makes me wish (almost) that I am one of those stay at home wife. That way, I can go back to sleep after making breakfast for him. But I guess that will be a dream for now! (HINT!!!)
Anyway, from my moaning and groaning above, you can see that it was a great weekend that I wish it don't have to end. Remember that lil surprise that I was planning for babe, well, in the end, I didn't do it because cannot wake up! (BLUSH!). Ok, ok, let me tell you what I was planning to do. Babe was eyeing this chair at Ikea that cost RM299 just for a chair. We went there last weekend because Ikea sales was on but the chair was a hot selling item, and hence, no sales.
So, babe decided not to get it lor since we can use the money for other stuff. I was planning to wake up early on Saturday morning to sneak off to Ikea while babe is at work and buy the chair for him as a surprise. Babe usually wakes up after noon on Saturdays that he was not working and to make sure that he really wakes up after noon, my intention was to make sure that he sleeps really late on Friday night. Well, the plan works! Abit too well actually because I also couldn't wake up!
I did set the alarm to ring at around 9.30am on Saturday but somehow, I think I must have turned it off and gone back to sleep! By the time I woke up, it was already 11.45am and I was not keen to go anymore especially since it was payday week and for sure, it will be a bad jam going to Ikea. Anyway, by then, babe would be awake soon and I am not looking forward to him calling me on my handphone and asking me where I was. That will kinda spoil the surprise wouldn't it.
So, plan B was to go on Sunday instead. Again, I failed miserably and this time it was even worse because I woke up at 1.30pm on Sunday! LOL! I went to bed at around 2am on Saturday and babe say he can't sleep, watched movie till about 4am and he woke up at 2pm-ish! Horrible ain't it but that is what we do during the weekends if we have nothing plan and babe is not working!
Anyway, on Saturday, after brunch at 1pm, watch more movie, we left the house at around 4pm for some shopping. Babe wanted to look for a flat frying pan and some work pants. We went to Subang Carrefour and boy oh boy, we spent more than RM400 there alone but it was worth it! Guess what we bought! Oh well, let me show you some pic....

So, babe RM299 Ikea chair needs to be onhold for now. I am still aiming for the used Ikea sofa but we didn't manage to go to the house to view it yet. Babe was reluctant but I think I managed to pursuade him that it is worth it because the used Ikea sofa has a 10years Ikea warranty. Not easy persuading him actually! The moment I mentioned the word used, he will give me the face and keep really quiet, neither agree or disagree with me. So, I made him go through the Ikea brochure with me and I show him the sofa AND the warranty AND the original price. AND I show him the used sofa picture.
So, all I need to do is get babe to agree on when to make the appointment with owner to see it. I still don't know how to move it back to our apartment though! But where there is a will, there is a way! LOL!

The moment I mentioned the word used, he will give me the face and keep really quiet, neither agree or disagree with me. So, I made him go through the Ikea brochure with me and I show him the sofa AND the warranty AND the original price. AND I show him the used sofa picture.
So, all I need to do is get babe to agree on when to make the appointment with owner to see it. I still don't know how to move it back to our apartment though! But where there is a will, there is a way! LOL!
p/s: This have nothing to do with anything above but I just want to record it down, babe swept the floor yesterday without me asking him to!!

You know and I know LAR!
Friday! What can I say about Friday? Friday is the most anticipate day of the week by almost everyone. It is so loved that there is even a well known restaurant named after it, i.e. TGIF (Thank God it's Friday). We all love Friday so much that the moment that day is here, the load on our shoulder seems to be much lighter compared to when it was Monday! So light in fact that we actually feel like dancing, jumping and make our extra bits jiggle like nobody business!
In fact, I know that many are already making plans to do things that you will normally not do on any other days. I know babe and I definitely love Fridays. Well, maybe I love it more than him since he still have to get up to work on some Saturdays. So, what we planned for tonight? SHOPPING! hahaha! In fact, babe was gently hinting yesterday after picking me up from work that his colleagues told him Jusco have Sales.
I replied, "Of course Sales, now mega sales month, everywhere also sales bah!"
Then he gave me that surprised look. Haiyah, that babe, sometimes really don't know he don't know or just teasing me! hhmpf! Anyway, so we will be walking at the mall near my office later. Frankly speaking, since it is so convenient for me to go to the mall, practically have to walk through it everyday when I was driving myself to walk, I just simply not really interested in window shop or actual shop at this place.
Not that I have walked all over the place mind you. But rather, going to the mall is like so routine, something that I do 5 days in a week to get to work. So, on Fridays and weekends, rather not go near the place. But then, it is the most convenient and nearest to our apartment lor. But since babe said he want to get some work pants, and this place have 2 anchor stores, i.e. Jusco and Parkson, then should be more choice for him. (I asked him, why he need new work pants suddenly. He said want to get those in darker color instead of the beige or light brown that he has now. Personally, I think his current pants must be getting tighter but he deny it so strongly & seriously when I asked that I think I better not tease him:P)
Then we plan to have dinner here. Too many choices here and we are not sure what to eat yet. If babe have his way, we will most likely go to Shillin Taiwan Snack House again for his favourite oyster mee sua and XXL crispy chicken. I am trying to change his mind . I am pretty sick of the oyster mee sua actually! When I first tasted it, it as like heaven on earth as I really like oysters. But everytime there is any friends from Kuching, we will bring them there to try it. The saying too much of good things......
Hopefully I can persuade babe to walk around first and try to explore something new. Of course, if he is keen to have the Japanese buffet at Shogun, I totally do not mind at all! But, my appetite was not what it used to be. I have to say that since I moved here, my ability to eat overloaded amount of food is practically over. Sad but good thing too since it is a pleasant way to control my daily food portion.
However, when going to places like the Japanese buffet, so much food, so little space! I remember going there twice already in the almost four months that I am here. Both times was for lunch and both times were treat by our boss from US. I think there were 6 of us and plus boss, would be 7. Meaning he paid RM350+ for the lunch. But then, divide that by the exchange rate, it is only about US$100+? Cheap consider it is Japanese food for 7 pax!
Anyway, as I was saying, on both occasions, I had only a few slices of salmon sashimi, beef sashimi, salmon rolls with egg roe, deep fried softshell crab, some duck meat, some tempura (more like 2 pcs of tempura prawn), some mushi, sharkfin soup and fruits for dessert! By the time I started on my dessert, I am actually so full and stuffed that I just need something really light to sooth the tummy. Really a waste if you ask me because the whole idea of going to the Japanese buffet and paying RM50 for it is so that you can eat super duper huge amount of fresh expensive seafood!
But luckily both time was not paid by me or else I sure feel wasted. However, I am looking forward to going with babe at least once to Shogun. Want to see him enjoy the food there! I know he love salmon sashimi very much! If we go to SS15, he would definitely order a plate that cost us RM12+ for 6 thick slices of sashimi. So, at Shogun, he can eat all he want at a fixed price! I will definitely going to enjoy watching him enjoy his food!

What? HUH!? WHAT?????
Guess what? Tomorrow is FRIDAY!!! hahaha! I truly live for the weekends and am looking forward to every Fridays because I know the next two days I will not have to wake up to the blaring of the loud noisy alarm from the handphone. I know that I can wake up early if I want to and laze around the living room doing nothing much. Of course, I will have more time for my books and take my time to cook/bake or whatever! Yeah! Definitely looking forwards to weekends.
It is not because I don't enjoy the work I am doing now. In fact, I am starting to really enjoy coming to work and looking forward to meeting up with my colleagues. After three and half months working here (gosh! It been that long! Quarter of a year!), I have starts to be more open and makes friends, know what people are talking about when they discuss certain work related items. You know, basically adapting and assimilating the new surroundings.
So far, I think it has been ok. Although I do still get calls from headhunters on and off, I am not looking to move from this job anytime soon unless a super good and irresistible opportunity presents itself to me! In fact, I am even lazy to look at the job vacancies page in The Star which we buy every Saturday. Babe is also that way although he do glance at it abit just to see if there is anything interesting. Hhmmm..does that mean that we are finally settled down from my relocation? I sure hope so!
So, now, would be looking forward, enjoy private time with just babe and I. Actually we are looking to fill the house with some furniture and I am all into getting second hand stuff like sofas and dining set. But babe, as usual, prefer to get better quality NEW stuff. But my argument is that why spend more on something that we can pay half or less of the original price and yet still get the same good quality items. Although it is used items, but then, frankly speaking, I really do not see the problem.
Of course, if it hygienic reason such as mattresses, I will totally agree that it must be new. But things like sofa with washable covers and dining table, well, why not right? Actually, I did find a used sofa on mudah.com. The advertised items description is something like this:

I managed to get the price negotiated to RM300 but exclude delivery of course. Intend to go to the house to view the item and check the condition. And if I do decide to get it, how in the world am I going to transport the thing back to my apartment from Damansara Perdana (which I have no idea at all where it is!).
Gosh, need to show babe the picture first and then ask him if he want to go see it this weekend. No way we can go at night to have a look especially since we are both not sure of the place. I hope there are some miracle and babe will agree to go with me. So lazy want to argue with him lar. Or maybe I should tell him after I got him his surprise? Hhhhmm.. I won't tell you guys what it is. *GRIN*
Only RK and SK knows for now. It was actually RK's suggestion or else my confused old brain might not have thought of it at all. Actually, I was confessing to RK that in our busy-ness and so many things clogging my mind, i.e. for my relocation, find our own place, obg and settling down, not to mention being engaged and living together now, I guess we forgot about pampering us and each other.
I am so excited! Can't wait to see his face when he see the surprise I prepare for him! Sssshhh! Not going to tell you what.....yet! Maybe will tell you guys more next week! bluek!! Ok, I better stop now, almost time to start work. MUCKS!!! and HUGS!!!!!

The Weekend I turned into a Tesco Fan
YAWN!!! MONDAY BLUES!!! Really having Monday morning blues and wish that I can take leave and sleep till the sun is shining high on my backside. I am feeling so sleepy right now that if I have the gut to lay my head on my arm on the table, I bet I will fall asleep in 5 seconds! Yah, that is how sleepy I am right now. Not so sure why because I sleep fairly early last night, around 11pm (yar, that is early for me ok!) and woke up at the usual 6.30am today.
Of course, last 2 days was sleeping till around 11am-ish. Perhaps that is why I seem to be suffering from the over-sleep effects from the weekend? I heard somewhere that if you sleep too much, you will actually feel more tired than rested. If this is true, then I know exactly why I feel so tired. On Saturday, after babe gone off to work around 7am, I went back to bed and promptly fell asleep till around 11am. Then I prepare lunch and clean the house abit. Babe got home around 1.30pm that day.
We had lunch and then both of us watch abit of internet tv and poor babe must be very tired. He fell asleep on the living room floor halfway thru the movie. I turn off the movie so that babe can sleep more soundly and went to the bedroom with my book. The intention was to read my book in bed, something that I always enjoyed. Instead, after a few minutes, I too doze off! I slept till about 6pm and babe only woke up at 7pm.
We had our dinner from the afternoon leftover food. Then decided not to waste our Saturday by staying at home. Since one of my colleague told me that we should try Tesco brand oat and blackcurrent cordial drink, we thought since that is the nearest to us, might as well. Of course, we forgot that it is Saturday and the place was really packed with people. But guess what, we didn't regret it at all. In fact, I think this might be one of those fruitful shopping that we both came back feeling rather satisfied.
Why? Because we found PORK at a reasonably ok price at Tesco non-halal section. Pork belly per kg RM16+ and if you prefer the organic type, RM23+. I think so far, this might be the cheapest pork that we find at hypermarkets. And the streaky bacon is around RM3.45 per 100g compared to Jusco which is RM4+. The pork choice here is not bad too, minced pork, lean meat, intestine, stomach, rib and so forth. Yup, babe was so happy that we decided to be faithful Tesco shopper from now on! He even talked about apply for Tesco member card now.
There are also wide choice of vegetables and fresh produce there. Although I think the fish and seafood section hygiene and freshness quality can be improved. The poultry section is pretty good and there were a promotion for whole chicken during the weekend. We bought the Tesco brand blackcurrent cordial drink at RM6.99 and it tasted absolutely like ribeena! Actually I thought it tasted better! Tesco brand Oat 1kg for RM5.99, which is almost half the price of normal Quaker Oat and there is no difference in taste and texture at all actually! Aiyah! I better stop or else you people will think I am being paid by Tesco to do promotion. (I am not lar but if they want to pay me, I wont say no :P).
Sunday, babe and I woke up around 11am-ish again since we both slept around 3am watching internet movie (what you guys think we are doing huh?!haha!) I actually woke up at 8.30am because babe was SNORING! Yup! He was snoring and this is actually the first time I hear him snore. I think it was because of the aircon we had on that night. It was so loud that I had no choice but to move my pillows and blanket to the living room and fall asleep there instead. Of course, babe denies that he snores when I told him the reason I had to sleep in the living room! HHMPF! Nevermind, next time, I will record them on my phone and use them as my ringtone for him! HAHAHA!
Anyway, Sunday, cook pork with leek, ginger and kicap (soya sauce). Pork intestine with mushroom and ginger. Huang ti mei with garlic(a type of vegetable which literally translates as king of sprouts). Chicken with salted vegetable soup. Didn't take any picture of the food though. Forgot plus the food are common homecook food. So, I didn't bother. Don't want to bore you guys with them anyways :P
After that, rest and watch more internet movie (Matrix, The Revolution! Hahahaha). After that, we went to Ikea at around 4pm and only came home at around 8.30pm. Heat up leftover from lunch for dinner, eat, laundry, ironing, more internet movie and then sleep at around 11pm. So, that was how the weekend went. Pretty routine but as you can see, we are settling down rather nicely at our new home. In fact, if I have the choice, I think I rather stay in every weekend or just go for walks instead of going to the mall. But babe cannot tahan stay in. So, we go out lor! Sigh.....

Where Kepong Pork Market?????
Normally, I look forward to going back at the end of a long working day. Today, I am so not looking forward to walk back to my car at 6pm later! So far away! I should have listen to my heart this morning and wear the comfortable sport shoes instead of the platform shoe. Now I am paying for my vain-ness. But at least will be walking there through the mall first and can still let my eyes roam and enjoy themselves. Just hope that I won’t be tempted to get anything.
Oh yah, the reason why I parked so far away? Well, the idiotic management of the mall decided that every Wednesday is free parking day but only from 10am onwards! Oh gosh! How silly is that? I mean, 75% of the people that parked at their parking is usually those working in the building nearby. And we start work at 8.30-9pm. I mean, I don’t care if you want to charge me before 10am, just keep the parking open! Yup, the closed the parking too. So, end up, the whole lot of us either have to park in the building that we worked which charge the crazy rate of RM2 per hour (you do the math, how much at the end of the day), or parked more than 1km away and walk.
Last week, I actually parked inside the office building and move the car 2 hours later, of which I get charge RM3. And then re-park again at the free-parking area at the mall. This week, I decided to be more adventurous, arrive earlier and go straight to the far away parking. Actually, that is the normal parking area for a few of my colleagues but I just couldn’t bear the thought of walking more than 1km daily to and from work and my car. Anyway, it is actually not so bad lar if I have the right kind of shoes on. It might even be fun because I will pass a few shops/stores along the way that I don’t normally see. I am contemplating parking there again tomorrow but I must make sure I bring my comfy shoes!
Another half hour before I leave for work. I am planning to test out my new toaster oven tonight. Want to try that recipe that RK did a few weeks ago, chicken drumstick wrap with bacon. I also have some plans what to cook for weekend already. Thinking of doing chicken rice as well as onion ring! A friend suggested Tapioca flour to make the skin more crispy. So, will be doing that this weekend, if I have the time and energy. Not yet buy the ingredient. Maybe will do that on Friday before I go back from work.
I am still looking for the wet market at Kepong actually. Anyone have any idea where it is, perhaps you don’t mind leaving me a message? Oh yah, forgot to say, the wet market must also sell pork! Hahaha! Our pork supply finish liaw and babe keep on mumbling about where to find more pork and stock up. Worse come to worse, we might just go to ss24 wet market but even that place, I am not sure got sell pork or not ler. Or else need to get from supermarket, gasp, RM25++ per kg! Wonder if I should go online and google, pork market in Kepong!?!?! Hahaha
Right, enough of that for now. I will try to REMEMBER to take lot of photo and share here. Usually I only remember when we finish eating. Babe lar, so hungry that he attack the food the moment I lay them on the table! Talking about table, we have yet to get our dining table. Still considering between getting those foldable plastic type and some plastic chairs or the solid wood table+4 chairs. The plastic table would cost roughly RM60 + chairs RM15 each. So, at the end, should be less than RM100. The solid wood table+4chairs is RM199. Still considering but RK, SK and Didi are all telling me to just get the plastic ones. Then in the future, after more settled and for sure will stay there long, then get the solid wood type.
At first, I think true also what they said but then hor, RK said, life is short! If you really like that solid wood table, then go get it lar if it is within your budget! Wahhh!!!! I can actually imagine that table in my dining area!!! Wah!! I have to think of how to convince babe. Or maybe I should just buy without telling him. I hope he don’t read my blog! He been reading my posting nowadays and then suddenly turn around and ask me, Like that my friend H know liaw that I accident? Hhmm…..babe, can only say, NO COMMENT!!! BLUEK!
Oh yah, the reason why I parked so far away? Well, the idiotic management of the mall decided that every Wednesday is free parking day but only from 10am onwards! Oh gosh! How silly is that? I mean, 75% of the people that parked at their parking is usually those working in the building nearby. And we start work at 8.30-9pm. I mean, I don’t care if you want to charge me before 10am, just keep the parking open! Yup, the closed the parking too. So, end up, the whole lot of us either have to park in the building that we worked which charge the crazy rate of RM2 per hour (you do the math, how much at the end of the day), or parked more than 1km away and walk.
Last week, I actually parked inside the office building and move the car 2 hours later, of which I get charge RM3. And then re-park again at the free-parking area at the mall. This week, I decided to be more adventurous, arrive earlier and go straight to the far away parking. Actually, that is the normal parking area for a few of my colleagues but I just couldn’t bear the thought of walking more than 1km daily to and from work and my car. Anyway, it is actually not so bad lar if I have the right kind of shoes on. It might even be fun because I will pass a few shops/stores along the way that I don’t normally see. I am contemplating parking there again tomorrow but I must make sure I bring my comfy shoes!
Another half hour before I leave for work. I am planning to test out my new toaster oven tonight. Want to try that recipe that RK did a few weeks ago, chicken drumstick wrap with bacon. I also have some plans what to cook for weekend already. Thinking of doing chicken rice as well as onion ring! A friend suggested Tapioca flour to make the skin more crispy. So, will be doing that this weekend, if I have the time and energy. Not yet buy the ingredient. Maybe will do that on Friday before I go back from work.
I am still looking for the wet market at Kepong actually. Anyone have any idea where it is, perhaps you don’t mind leaving me a message? Oh yah, forgot to say, the wet market must also sell pork! Hahaha! Our pork supply finish liaw and babe keep on mumbling about where to find more pork and stock up. Worse come to worse, we might just go to ss24 wet market but even that place, I am not sure got sell pork or not ler. Or else need to get from supermarket, gasp, RM25++ per kg! Wonder if I should go online and google, pork market in Kepong!?!?! Hahaha
Right, enough of that for now. I will try to REMEMBER to take lot of photo and share here. Usually I only remember when we finish eating. Babe lar, so hungry that he attack the food the moment I lay them on the table! Talking about table, we have yet to get our dining table. Still considering between getting those foldable plastic type and some plastic chairs or the solid wood table+4 chairs. The plastic table would cost roughly RM60 + chairs RM15 each. So, at the end, should be less than RM100. The solid wood table+4chairs is RM199. Still considering but RK, SK and Didi are all telling me to just get the plastic ones. Then in the future, after more settled and for sure will stay there long, then get the solid wood type.
At first, I think true also what they said but then hor, RK said, life is short! If you really like that solid wood table, then go get it lar if it is within your budget! Wahhh!!!! I can actually imagine that table in my dining area!!! Wah!! I have to think of how to convince babe. Or maybe I should just buy without telling him. I hope he don’t read my blog! He been reading my posting nowadays and then suddenly turn around and ask me, Like that my friend H know liaw that I accident? Hhmm…..babe, can only say, NO COMMENT!!! BLUEK!

Shopping for CNY
wooo hoooo..obi is not in!! She is talking half day off. Does this mean that the mouse can come out to play now that the cat is not around. hahaha...Actually, feeling abit unfair too that she can go off when she set the rule that there must be at least 50% workforce at all time in the department. Today, there is only 3 out of 5 person working. With her gone, the workforce is confirmed to be less than 50%. The law maker does not abide by the law that is set by them? But I dont care lar, as long as she is not here, eventhough I have plenty of things to do, I am still happy and less stressed!
OK! Enough my lady boss. Lets talk about CNY which is just less than 1 week away. Finally, starting to have abit of new year mood. Went to Everise right after work yesterday just to have a look see and survey. Of course, did intend to change window shopping to actual shopping if anything catches the eyes. Turns out that there were plenty of interesting things that caught my eyes. End up spending more than RM200 in less than an hour! hahaha.. yah yah, I know, WOMAN & SHOPPING!
Among the items that I bought yesterday was dried pearl mushroom. It is actually the normal mushroom but the size small and really cute. Just couldnt resist getting it. I can almost imagine how they will look like when I cook them in different dishes. Also bought 2kg of pistachio nuts which is mom's favourite. Also bought a few types of cookies too. One of it is the nice sugee cookie with icing topping.
Also 2 pkt of seaweed & 1 pkt of popiah skin to make the crispy seaweed popiah tonight (hhmm..which reminds me, I forgotten to buy a small brush. Will go get it later!). 3 different types of cookies and some preserved fruit such as preserved kiwi (very nice green), pineapple (my favourite), orange skin (dad's favourite) and plum. Keep on reminding myself not to buy too much or it will end up like last year preserved fruits. Most of them went into the tong sampah (rubbish bin).
Anyway, when I finally got home, turned out that mom & dad was also in CNY mood and went to Boulevard to buy some goodies too. So now, we have 3kg of pistachio nuts and 2 big packets of dried mushroom. Thank goodness other things that we bought are different ones. Now we have a pretty decent stash of goodies ready for CNY. Sort of anyways...there is still my baking!!
During lunch time just now, we just couldn't resist to go the Choice Daily supermarket at Tabuan Laru just to have a look. The supermarket looks so festive from the outside. Inside, I saw this really really nice dark chocolate from Australia called farm choc. Some are dark choc with milk choc filled with Australian wine, cost about RM7-8 which I think is pretty reasonable. It claim to have less than 30% carb and fat. So, I guess good for those on low carb and high protein diet. The supermarket also sell some rather interesting important muesli at reasonable price. I think I will get my supply from there next time.
Actually Choice Daily supermarket seems to have wide choice of imported items at reasonable but the more common stuff are pretty highly priced compared to other supermarket. I wonder if will be able to survive when Coldstorage open at Green Height soon. Oh well, more competition means better prices for poor consumer like me. So, I dont mind them having healthy (or even unhealthy ones like price war) as long as they keep the prices down.
Oh yah, by the way, I did see some dried pork sold outside Everise BDC for RM54-58 per kg. I didn't try any as I was rushing for time. But looking at it, it looks rather dry and tough. Not sure if it will taste good or not. I guess we get for what we pay. But if what we are paying is RM75 per kg, ermm, I rather pay for gold:P
Tomorrow will be going out with my friend to highlight my hair. Usually, I wont even bother to do that as I dont really like to put chemicals on my hair but the friend was able to get a discounted price from the rather reputable saloon. So, I thought, with the bonus given with our pay last month, I might as well indulge. So, tomorrow morning, 9.30am is hairdresser time. And then will be going to India Street to get some baking supplies to make my pineapple tart, momo (melting moments), cheesecake and horlick lapis.
Mom also just called to say that most of the supermarkets in Kuching will be open till midnight this few days starting today and TELLING me that we are going out tonight. So, while dad and bro go around to get their CNY clothes, mom, sis & I will be shopping for CNY goodies. Mom is looking for dried pork! Shall I tell her I am going to attempt to make my own using the recipe that I have?? hehehe..better not just in case I fail or am too lazy to make them!:P

Inflation and Crime
My colleague were telling me that her house was burglarised yesterday. Luckily only the 2 tong of cooking gas outside the house was stolen. The house alarm must have scared the thieves away. The neighbor actually saw the whole thing but dare not make a peep. He saw 4 men carry away the tong gas and escape using motorbikes. I guess we can blame him perhaps if he have shouted from his house, the thieves might have been too scared to do anything and run off?
But has situation become so bad that 4 men is willing to risk it and trespass to a stranger house just for 2 gas tong? I mean most likely they will only be able to sell it for a couple hundred ringgit and divide that by four of them, RM50 each? Situation in Kuching has been increasing scary in the recent months actually. Just recently, the newspaper reported that the thieves actually waited to pounce on a contractor and his family just as the wife was opening the gate to go into the house. The thieves then proceed tie the contractor's family up and force the contractor to reveal where all the valuables are. And worse still, thieves actually have weapons such as gun and knives with them!
And not too long ago, Kuchingnites, ladies especially, were all warned to be careful where they place their handbags. Apparently, there seem to be a trend where the snatcher riding a motorbike will smash the passenger seat window and grab the handbag right off the seats. However, seems that some people just never learn. A lady just withdraw some money from a bank and just about to leave in her car got the shock of her life when a motorbike came right up to her and smash her back passenger window and snatch the handbag (Forgive me for saying this but SILLY WOMAN, leaving the handbag full of cash at the back seat!).
I am just wondering if the inflation and crime is related. I mean, it seems that just about everything has increased in price and keep on increasing. Especially since after the increment of the civil servant salary, the floodgate seems to have open and flooding everything! Just imagine, abowl of kolo mee which as selling for RM2-2.20 is now RM2.50-2.80. Some are even selling them at RM3. The reason given, increase in price of the flour. What the heck! I thought the flour only increase 20 - 30 cents per kg? Well, I dont know how many bowls of noodles can be made from a kg of flour but I think it should be more than 1 bowl?
Yesterday, during lunch, a colleague was commenting that she is thinking to go away for the CNY holidays as a vacation might be cheaper than the CNY preparation. Then last night, mom ask if there is still any cheap fare around CNY time. Apparently, she and dad went to look for pork floss and discovered that the dried pork is now at least RM85-100 per kg! Unless I dont mind eating the dried pork from China which is alot cheaper @ RM25-30 per kg and face the potential risk to health, then I think my house will not be serving any dried pork during CNY this year. OMG! It would be like serving gold nuggets!
Honestly speaking, I think I need to seriously look into finding source of side income if the inflation rate continue to go up this way. Just hope Smorty and Sponsoredreviews will approve my account soon and start giving me assignment!

MAXIS Family Plus Plan & Motorola KRZR K3
I got the handphone as a gift from my dad about 2-3 months ago. Dad got it during a promotion for Maxis whereby if you are on the 150plan, then you are entitled to purchase the phone for RM599. But of course, subject to the terms and condition. I think one of it is that you will need to have a contract with them for 2 years, i.e. you must not terminate the account in the 2 years. It is one of the Family Plus Plan or something like that. The plan is pretty good especially for family members. The principal line can have up to 5 supplementary lines with different value plan. And balance of each plan can be shared out among the family members. For example:

So, the balance is 0 because what I dont use is being used to pay for what Dad use. (ermm..hope this is not confusing). On top of that, we can call each other for free (up to 20 hours each person), mean that I can call dad, mom or bro for 20 hours for free or mom can call of us for 20 hours for free. This is including voice and video call. So, good reason to own a 3g phone! hahaha.. And free 2000 sms for free too.
Anyway, the motorola phone promotion is pretty worthwhile although the phone does not have much accessories except handset, charger and battery. I No software or anything. Think the market price for original set is around RM1500? I think they have another promotion now for motorola v6. Get the 80 plan and can purchase the phone for RM399 but of course also subject to the 2 years contract and other terms and condition. Got that for my babe and so far we are having a lot of fun with it!
I have always like using motorola phone. The K3 is my 3rd motorola actually. The first is the E something, cant remember the exact model. The black & monochrome one. Really durable and nice to use but pretty bulky and the color fades easily. Actually, babe's friend and gf got it first and we like it so much that we went and got ourselves a pair too not long after that. No regrets since then.
After that my bro went to KL and bought a v3 from a second hand shop and so far it has been pretty good too. It is pink by the way! hahahaha...But now I am having problem with it because I cant find the software to upload anything from the handphone to my PC/laptop. I tried a few times via files from the websites but so far nothing seems to work.
Tried everything from installing, re-install, re-boot, off & on the handphone, etc. But nothing works! I think I will just give up and let my blog of photo-less. I have so many pictures in my phone now but there is nothing I can do about it except to mms them to my babe and make him drool :(

The Spring, Kuching
Ok, you wont believe what I did yesterday...I cant believe what I did. Even while I was walking there being part of the crowd, I feel like kicking myself for being one of the sakai...Ok, here goes..
I decided while I was posting my blogs yesterday afternoon that I want to go out and eat Thosai Rawa at Sri Khan in town. So, I sms my friend "hi!! Wana go out for thosai and cuci mata (wash eyes) at The Spring? Pick you at 6pm:P" Yah, me of all people invited a friend to go out to the Spring where I know fully well that the rush will still be on since it is Saturday! Dont ask me what came over me. I have no idea at all. Wait till I tell you more...you will be snickering and shaking your head!
So, I took a nap and woke up around 5pm. Shower and changed. Helped dad with his fish tank. (He has decided that he want to revive his old hobby but no idea. Another reason I am glad we have a maid soon! Cleaning an aquarium is definitely not my idea of fun!) Anyway, I picked the friend up at around 6pm and we went to Sri Khan.
Sri Khan basically serve authentic indian cuisine whereby the cook is either indian or mamak and the waiter/waitress are malays and the shop owned by chinese (hehehe..so so so typical). I ordered my Thosai Rawa which is basically thosai topped with spices and spring onions and comes with 3 different sauces, dhal sauce, curry and grated coconut sambal. The thosai tasted abit like pancake with papadam spices (Am I making sense?).
The friend ate some kind of rice with condiment and I cant remember the name (oii...fren, if you remember the name of your, type in the comment yah:P hahaha) ! Anyway, the rice is spice rice that is pretty spicy. Apparently they ground up all the spices and stir fry them together. And in come 3 dishes and 2 small bowl of sauce. Basically one of the side dishes were spiced lamb which I tried and it tasted more like beef to me. The overpowering spices covered the lamb taste totally. The other two was pumpkin cooked in watery curry sauce and cabbage. The sauce was rich fish curry and dhal paste. I guess the food was not bad if you dont mind smelling like a spice shop when you burp!
By the time we finish eating everything, it was around 7pm and it is time to start our 'adventure' to go the spring. By the way, it is spelled tHe Spring. I have no idea why the capital H in between the t & e. If anyone knows, greatly appreciate if you can tell me:). We decided to try going there using the backway from Kenyalang residence area in hope to avoid jam. However, everyone seems to have the same idea! The same was about a mile long. Luckily we were able to escape using another route to go to the Simpang Tiga roundabout which is near to the spring.
The friend then suggested parking at Swinburne which is opposite of the spring. I thought this is a clever idea. After all, if the security guard ask, the friend can just flash his Swinburne student card and say that he is going to the lab! haha...yah, that backfire as we discover that the gate nearest to the road to cross to the spring was closed. Geez, guess the Swinburne management must have knew about this and decided to make things difficult for anyone trying to take advantage of the parking space there.
So, finally I decided what the heck, lets just join the crowd and try to park in the spring basement parking. I told the friend that I will only tolerant one hour being stucked in the car and looking for parking space and the time then was roughly 7.45pm. Meaning, the limit for me is 8.45pm. But actually, it ONLY took us about 35min to get into the basement parking and find a space. However, I really really must comment something. KUCHING DRIVERS ARE SO RUDE! The queue was long but please lar, wait in line and follow the rule. Do you think that just because you are more clever, so you go and cut queue right at the entrance?? No wonder Kuching people have the reputation for being lazy and rude! I am embarassed!
Anyway, we go in via a the famous water fountain which was not working at the time (yah..after just 3 days..) I can see lots of coins in the fountain though. I wonder if this is the reason the fountain died. (We heard an announcement over the PA system as we were leaving to request shoppers NOT to throw coins into the water fountain and pool! hahahaha!) Anyway, I am sorry to tell you that I didnt have any pictures to show at all. I mean, I have my camera phone with me and I keep on waiting for something that entice me to start snapping away.
After walking for about 1.5hours, my friend said:That's all. I think my jaw actually dropped and I ask him: Huh? That is it?? hhmm..so WHAT IS THE FUSS!!!
hahaha..I seriously do not see what the fuss is all about. True, there are shops that previously was not available in Kuching, eg. Sushi King and so on. But at the end of the day, the whole of the spring is just one wing of Sunway Pyramid or KLCC. It is no wonder that Jusco refused to take up the offer to be the anchor deparmental store there. The excuse given, it is too small for them. Sorry if I offended any Kuchingnites out there but I really really really dont see what the fuss is about. The friend ate some kind of rice with condiment and I cant remember the name (oii...fren, if you remember the name of your, type in the comment yah:P hahaha) ! Anyway, the rice is spice rice that is pretty spicy. Apparently they ground up all the spices and stir fry them together. And in come 3 dishes and 2 small bowl of sauce. Basically one of the side dishes were spiced lamb which I tried and it tasted more like beef to me. The overpowering spices covered the lamb taste totally. The other two was pumpkin cooked in watery curry sauce and cabbage. The sauce was rich fish curry and dhal paste. I guess the food was not bad if you dont mind smelling like a spice shop when you burp!
By the time we finish eating everything, it was around 7pm and it is time to start our 'adventure' to go the spring. By the way, it is spelled tHe Spring. I have no idea why the capital H in between the t & e. If anyone knows, greatly appreciate if you can tell me:). We decided to try going there using the backway from Kenyalang residence area in hope to avoid jam. However, everyone seems to have the same idea! The same was about a mile long. Luckily we were able to escape using another route to go to the Simpang Tiga roundabout which is near to the spring.
The friend then suggested parking at Swinburne which is opposite of the spring. I thought this is a clever idea. After all, if the security guard ask, the friend can just flash his Swinburne student card and say that he is going to the lab! haha...yah, that backfire as we discover that the gate nearest to the road to cross to the spring was closed. Geez, guess the Swinburne management must have knew about this and decided to make things difficult for anyone trying to take advantage of the parking space there.
So, finally I decided what the heck, lets just join the crowd and try to park in the spring basement parking. I told the friend that I will only tolerant one hour being stucked in the car and looking for parking space and the time then was roughly 7.45pm. Meaning, the limit for me is 8.45pm. But actually, it ONLY took us about 35min to get into the basement parking and find a space. However, I really really must comment something. KUCHING DRIVERS ARE SO RUDE! The queue was long but please lar, wait in line and follow the rule. Do you think that just because you are more clever, so you go and cut queue right at the entrance?? No wonder Kuching people have the reputation for being lazy and rude! I am embarassed!
Anyway, we go in via a the famous water fountain which was not working at the time (yah..after just 3 days..) I can see lots of coins in the fountain though. I wonder if this is the reason the fountain died. (We heard an announcement over the PA system as we were leaving to request shoppers NOT to throw coins into the water fountain and pool! hahahaha!) Anyway, I am sorry to tell you that I didnt have any pictures to show at all. I mean, I have my camera phone with me and I keep on waiting for something that entice me to start snapping away.
After walking for about 1.5hours, my friend said:That's all. I think my jaw actually dropped and I ask him: Huh? That is it?? hhmm..so WHAT IS THE FUSS!!!
hahaha..I seriously do not see what the fuss is all about. True, there are shops that previously was not available in Kuching, eg. Sushi King and so on. But at the end of the day, the whole of the spring is just one wing of Sunway Pyramid or KLCC. It is no wonder that Jusco refused to take up the offer to be the anchor deparmental store there. The excuse given, it is too small for them. Sorry if I offended any Kuchingnites out there but I really really really dont see what the fuss is about.
