Eat Wind (Makan Angin)

Nowadays babe and Ginger just luv to go car ride. Sometimes, when I am too lazy or came home too late to go for walks, we will bring Ginger for a car ride and she really seems to enjoy it very much. So much so that sometimes she dont even want to come out of the car after the ride. We either have to coax her or pretend to leave her outside the house before she will willingly get out of the car on her own.

Ginger Ginger Ginger.....

hhmm..523post. And nothing in almost 2 months. Gosh, I am getting really lousy at this updating my blog stuff ever since I changed to my job (over a year ago). Too much things to be pre-occupied with after work and during the weekend, just too lazy to do much. Let me see, what have I been doing in the last few weeks.

To be frank, nothing much happened that I can blog about. Maybe that is what tamed my blogging addiction? Or maybe because of the new baby Ginger that is taking up alot of my time? But I really didnt mind because let me tell you, all the tiredness and stress from work just dissappeared when you see unconditional love leaping up & down at you as if she has not seen you for months when in fact, only lunch time you came back to feed her and let her out to wee-wee.

But she is the closest to my babe. When babe comes back, it is as if she sees God coming home! HAHA! That is the only way I can described how Ginger acted. Even now, she is sleeping next to babe napping. When babe is at the computer playin game, she will go to the door and sleep there. But the moment babe stopped with the computer and comes to the living room area, she will walk over and plop herself down next to babe. AND part of her body must touch part of babe. Does not matter whether its her paw touching babe's finger or wat.

Just touching would be enough to make her sleep like a baby. I guess she just feel safe with hubby? But but but.. I am the one that feed her ler! AND she bullies me! Yarp, will bite my fingers if I dont give her what she wants but with babe, she will lick him no matter what! GGRR! HAHAHA!~

Ooops...babe just tip-toe away to play his computer. She is still sleeping. Must be extremely exhausted because she has not sleep the whole day! :P

Oh did I also tell you that she is extremely intelligent. For the right reward (FOOD la what else), she can learn sit and shake hand within 2 days. And cant trick her ler. She will know if got any treats or not. If got treats, just soft request for her to sit and shake hand is enough. But if nothing, tell her till pengsan also she pretend not to hear until she decided to pity you and do what you ask.

Now we are trying to teach her lie down & stay. Need to get her new treats first because that is the only thing that works.

Okay la..enough about Ginger. Dont want to bore you all! :P

Cant waittttttttt

We are getting more and more excited about our new pup coming home next week. Well hopefully can be next week because we are still worried that maybe 6 weeks is still too small for her to be separated from her mom. But we will see.

We have bought her bowl, prepare her place to sleep and her pen. Now, just need to get her lightweight leash, collar and dog food. Babe is even more excited. Already talking about getting another type of pup, blue eye siberian husky. I been checking the net for him but super expensive la those pup. Minimum RM1000.

I myself am looking at australia silky terrier! So damn cute and tiny but also damn expensive. Also around RM800-1000 depending on how pure and with cert or not. I dont care about the cert but I do want healthy dog. Sme places, they keep dogs in the cage 24hours and almost never let them out. No love...no purpose except for breeding. Should get the sspca on them!

ANYWAY, I can foresee that there will be more doggies being added to the family. HAHA~! Okay la..sharing some super cute photos of the labrador puppies online. Mine have the same coloring and cuteness! :P

Taking the fish for a walk!

GOSH! I woke up this morning with pain in my bone especially when I flex my hands and fingers. I think I better get the bitter herbal tea during lunchtime later to make sure that this does not get worse. Most likely the body is too heaty and went abit crazy because of the unpredictable weather, very hot and then rain and then very hot again. Weird weather we been having and that on top of the haze that I can see from the office window. Oh, of course, durian that I had with mom last week. But frankly, I didnt really take that much. Furthermore, babe already warned, dont eat too much durian or else he wont entertain me when (notice I said when and not if) I fall sick.

It seems that no matter what I take after that to try and neutralise the affect of the durian does not work at all. I tried drinking salt water right after eating durian. Even drink the salt water right out of the durian shell but to no avail. Tried taking rhino cooling water but that too seems to have little effect. (Personally, I think rhino water is just alot of crap by very good marketeers trying to re-brand their mineral water or something). Then, of course, there is the faithful herbal tea but me being me, although the bitter herbal tea works, I wont take those bitter herbal tea until it is ABSOLUTELY necessary. (Stupid right? Should have just pinch the nose and gulp it down to avoid all this discomfort!)

Anyway, babe actually came pretty early yesterday to pick me up from work. Usually, he will take his time and leave the office closer to 6pm although he finished work at 5.30pm. That means that he will only arrived here around 6.30pm or 6.45pm depending on the traffic condition. But yesterday, he was actually here by 6.10pm. Someone was rushing to go to the aquarium shop to get a new filter pump for his koi at home! The old pump went kapoot the night before. Luckily we have a spare airpump at home and temporary feed the koi air using those. (you would think as newly weds, he would be more excited to come and pick up the wife. Instead, the wife loose out to the koi! SIGH!!!)

We went to this aquarium near our place at Bdr Sri Damansara. We sort of discovered this place during the weekend when we bring my parents and sis for a drive. And we are glad that we did because the aquarium shop sells things at a reasonable price. Also, the owners are really friendly and even remember babe's name eventhough it was only our second visit yesterday. Also, you can clearly see that the aquarium shop was not just business but rather, a hobby and passion.

If you walk slightly to the back of the shop, you will a tank with 2 huge koi in it and one koi have a slight injury on its back. Aparrently, the owner of the koi actually bring the fish to the shop to ask the shop owner for help. Yah, sort of like a hospital for fish. The shop owner said that he actually sedate the fish and take it out to put medicine directly on the wound and leave it there for 5minutes before putting the fish back to the tank again. Now, that I what I call dedication.

I mean if you see how he put his hand into the tank to pet the koi! WAH LAU! It makes me want to try and pet them too. And of course, this makes me eat my own word about not able to pet fish and bring them for walks! But I feel shivers and my hair stand up whenever I see babe feed his fishes. He would hold a few food pellets between his fingers and dip them into the aquarium slightly. Then those fishes will actually swim near and take the food from his fingers! GOSH! No wonder he is thinking of getting a bigger aquarium for them. (People say the fish growth is limited by the size of their tank).

Note to babe: NOPE! I am not buying you the 4-feet aquarium for your birthday :S

My Babe's Pet Project

Guess what we did after work yesterday? Nolar, not THAT or whatever *something* that the senget brain is thinking. Babe and I went to Carrefour Subang lar! Yap, all the way from 1U. To do what you ask? Babe want to buy aquarium there because it is cheap, 2feet aquarium for RM45 (But end up we buy more than that....*roll eyes and shake head*).

I actually have a meeting at 6pm yesterday but due to my colleague R ingenuity, the meeting was over in 10minutes. But I cannot go back yet ler. I told babe to leave his office late so that he dont have to wait too long for me mar. How I know the meeting finished even earlier than his usual pick-me-up-time. On top of that, when I called him at 6.15pm, it was raining really heavily and he cant leave his office without getting soak.

So, I went to 1U lor to walk around searching for more ribbons while waiting. I was hoping that Kee is still around since she mentioned that she wanted to go shopping after work as well but she was already almost at her car when I called. Anyway, didn't buy anything at all. The ribbons are so darn expensive. 2 meters for more than RM10! That is what I called insane and cut-throat. Also, wasted quite alot of time at Coldstorage queuing to pay for the drink that babe ordered me to buy for me...

By the time he picked me up, it was already 7pm and we hear on the mix.fm the usual rush hour jam is still happening at LDP and the road to Subang. We decided to go for dinner at the nearby economy rice shop while waiting for the rush hour jam to subside. By the time we arrived Carrefour Subang, it was closed to 8pm but no problem there since not much people is around on weekdays! Blissful! hahaha.

Walked around checking out the electrical stuff first. Hoping to find water heater or combination microwave at bargain. But nothing lor! Then we go straight to the aquarium section. As I said, initially we planned to go there to get the 2 feet aquarium and JUST the aquarium which cost RM45. I thought, why not. That is cheap and he just need to find a cupboard to put the aquarium on and I can USE the cupboard to store some of the stuff at home.

I should have known that things will never go as plan when it comes to shopping for hobby and interest. We end up buying a full set of fish rearing equipment, a 2 feet aquarium that comes with the plastic cover, a filter pump and a stand for the aquarium to sit on. Total damage, RM190. Oh, plus sponge for the filter and anti-chlorine. So, total is RM193. We paid and went home immediately after that. Babe wants to go back and set up his new toy!

All the way back, he keep asking what fish to keep! He cant make up his mind lar. Awhile ariwana (sp?), then changed his mind and thought of goldfish and then changed his mind again back to ariwana. Goodness! Like little boy! hahaha! But I am happy he is happy lar. Then keep mumbling that we should have at least gotten a small small fish to put in the aquarium first. I stopped him from buying the fish at Carrefour because (1) We are gonna be in Kch for 2wks. Who take care? and (2) The aquarium needs to be clean and water need to be filtered first lar or else the fishes all die lar!

Does this mean that I have an excuse to get a small toy dog as pet????

Why So Like That One?

Again, I am in a dilemma! Shall I have a pet dog or not? One weekend, we went to Carrefour Kepong and we purposely went to the petshop first before going to Carrefour or else we can’t both go in to see the pet there. Just look see only. A little surprised that babe want to go see pets also because he was saying that we shouldn’t have pets. Although he loves dogs and cats too, he feels that it would be too much responsibility for the both of us. Before going to the petshop that day, I agree with him 100%. But I can only say that it was a big mistake of his to bring me to the petshop.

We went into the petshop and immediately we walk to the puppies section. There have a few puppies such as shih tzu, cocker spaniel, mini pinscher, chow chow and so on for sale. NONE of the price tag is below RM1000! Even for the shih tzu, it was on sale for RM1050! I was looking at puppy breed called chow chow, and trying to get its attention the usual way, i.e. gently tapping on the screen separating us. Then suddenly, the petshop owner opens the cage and take out the puppy! And then she hands the puppy to me!

Sufficient to say that I was in love with the puppy after that. If it were not for the out-of-reach price tag (RM3,200), I would have taken the puppy home that very moment. But like all good things, it all had to come to and end. After a few minutes of holding and hugging the puppy, I gave it back. And then I proceed to stand there, looking at the puppy for the long time after she is back in her cage! I must have look pretty upset and sad not to mention WEIRD! There I was, standing and staring at the puppies with tears swimming in my eyes! I am so glad that I manage to get a control of myself and not shed any! Gosh, that would have been embarrassing.

I went home with a sad and heavy heart that night, thinking about my own little doggies that I had to give away when I relocated to KL. I wonder how are those little babies are now. I know those that are with my cousin (2 of them) are doing well and are very happy. They still remember me in fact and jump all over me when they saw me at my cousin house before I came to KL. Another two, I gave away to a friend of a friend of a friend. I was told that they are dog lovers too and have a few of their own. I am more worried about this two because one of them is 12 years old and has cataract. He has been with me since I was in college and almost all my college mate knew and remembers him.

I actually went online to search for more information about chow chow the next day. And the cheapest that I can find online is RM1,800 for locally breed chow chow without MKC (Malaysia Kernel Cert), no microchip or vaccination. WOW! I never knew dogs here are so expensive. Even the shih tzu is sold at around RM600 and again without MKC or vaccination! I do not really mind about the MKC but the puppy must at least be vaccinated! After all, you never know what kind of people owns the puppies. Some unscrupulous people just keep dogs for breeding and profits! They do not care about the health of their dogs. So, it is better to be careful than getting upset if the dog didn’t survive after purchase.

So, I actually almost gave up hope again because of the price tag. But I stumble upon a website (www.adpost.com.my) which allows people to advertise whatever things they want to sell or buy, including pets for adoption. I was actually looking for used furniture online and saw that there is a category for pets. Of course, I cannot resist just having a peek! And I saw a few advert with dogs for adoption! WOW! One is a 7 year old shih tzu but I was too late. Another was a 1+ year old mini pinscher. The dog is really tiny and is only about 2 or 2 half palm size at adulthood. It looks like a miniature Doberman actually.

So, this lady advertised that she is looking for someone to adopt the dog. Upon more conversation, found that she actually moving from a condo to renting just a room near where I work. And since she is renting room, she simply can’t keep any dogs no matter how tiny they are since the owner doesn’t allow it. Yes, I am very excited at the prospect but can’t make up my mind whether to keep or not. On one hand, I miss having a dog in my life. I feel as if something is missing and listening to my friends with dogs tell me how their dogs greet them when they came home from work, how their stress all gone the moment they see their happy eager pet. I would have preferred something bigger and meatier so that I can hug and hold the dog without fear that I will break it. But big dogs mean bigger maintenance and responsibilities. So, a tiny dog such as the mini pinscher would be perfect. Furthermore, it is FREE! A dog like that at the pet shop will cost around RM600-1000.

On the other hand, would I be able to handle the added responsibility? Will I have the time for the little fella? Will giving it bath, food, cleaning up and so forth equal the benefits and happiness I get from it? Later, when we decide to have a baby of our own, will we be able to handle having a kid and a dog? Do I have time for both and the big panda???? Also, the little fella need to be house broken, where will I be able to find the time? So many questions, no answer. I think those with a dog or cat will be able to understand what I am trying to say.

I actually asked 2 friends for their opinion. One strongly disagreed that I adopt the dog but one suggested that a dog will help to train for future heavy responsibility of having a kid. Then again, when I actually have a kid of my own, will this craving for a pet go away? The feeling that something cuddly and lovable is missing go away? I seriously don’t know. I guess I will let babe decides? At least if he say yes, then he will also be responsible to help me with the dog?! Hahaha…

Shall I? Can I? Should I?

Shall I or shall I not? If I get, it will mean that I will need to allocate a lot of time and energy to my little babies but could I really afford to do that? I mean, I am already feeling so tired after work, cook & clean after that big panda of mine. Even last night, I was feeling dizzy for no reason at all but I still keep doing whatever I am doing as I am not the kind of person to fuss unless really sick or pengsan (faint) :P Yar I am stubborn! And I have not even mention the financial burden, the responsibilities, restriction to freedom and so on.

On the other hand, when I see others with their babies, will it be worth it? Seeing those cute adorable little faces starting up with their huge adorable little eyes. Everyday going back from work seeing them greet you as if you are their world and God. Listening and trying their best to please you so that you are happy because they are happy when you are happy. But silly little babies doesn’t know that you are willing do to almost anything to make sure that they are happy too because you are happy when the babies are happy!

So, shall I or shall I not? Shall I get us a little pet? What were you guys thinking? Real life human babies??? Geez! As if! I am engaged but not married yet ok! Am thinking of those tiny toy dogs, shih tzu or chiwawa or pekingnese. They really don’t need much space and don’t eat that much and yet, they are so affectionate, naughty but obedient at the same time. But dogs will need more maintenance and cleaning up. Since the dog will be staying in door, then they need to be bath every 2-3days. And dry and comb their fur.

Or maybe I should get a cat, you know those Persian long hair type? Those are very affectionate as well but cats will require less maintenance since they are cleaner and don’t need to take bath so often. But cats are more ‘gentle’ compare to dogs. I really prefer those cuddly and nice to hug type. ARGGH! Babe say no dogs or cat as pet. Just get fish or tortoise! I ask him those two pet can hold and hug? Can I pet the fish or tortoise and get a affectionate and cute reaction from them? Can I chase them around the apartment? Can I bring them for walks that I know we will both enjoy.

You know what he said? He say CAN!! Fish, take out from tank give it a pat and put it back! Tortoise even easier to pat and got reaction some more he say, they lean to one side when you rub their shell. Want to bring them for walks, of course can. Put the fish in a cup and bring for walk lor!! Race them around the apartment? Tortoise, no competition, because you will always win! GGRRR!!!!!! KEK SI!!!

But I understand why he don’t want a pet and eventhough I am so tempted, I know I have to control myself. Especially since we plan to get married end of the year, then have babies (real human babies lar ok!) in a year or two. In my mind, cats or dogs don’t really mix well with babies or young children. Not very hygienic especially with all the fur flying around from the animal. Some more, what if we need to relocate again, or go back to Kuching, what will happen to the cat or dog? We can ship them back with us but all the hassle, paperwork, quarantine and not to mention the cost!

I guess for now, I will just have to be satisfied with the big panda that I have at home and pamper him instead. Or borrow someone’s dog to play with and return to them when my craving is temporarily satisfied? Or perhaps I can offer to babysit their dogs when they have to go travelling or vacation? Free of charge. Just need to provide me their dogfood and leash! Eh, of course, the dog must be house train one ah then I will babysit. Or else the owner will need to clean my apartment at the end of the day! OMG! I do sound desperate don’t I??

In the meantime, share this cute cute panda pic that RK send to me via email:

Doggie Tale

I been avoiding any movies that involve animals, especially those with sappy stories related to animals or about animal cruelty. I am even avoiding documentaries channels on Astro about Animal Rescue and so forth. I was not always like this. Usually, I will be the first to ask babe to buy (or download) latest animal movies. Now, some of you might be thinking how come I am so hard hearted? Well, actually, I am not! In fact, I am super duper soft hearted especially when it come to furry small dogs and cats.

But after I had to give away all my four dogs to relatives and friends, I don't think I will have the energy to resist and succumb to my emotion, i.e. cry my eyes out at every sappy animal related movies. Oh, trust me! I will definitely be bawling and crying unstoppable even when I want to. On top of that, there will be that heart piercing sensation with the heavy heart that makes me feel so depressed after every story about cruelty to animal.

One that leaves deep impression on me was during one of the Animal Rescue episode where the rescuer found the owner left their dogs chained up in the basement starve to death! Basically, when the rescuer found the ones that survived, they also found some dog skin and bones laying around! I am starting to have that heavy heart feeling even as I was typing this. I cannot understand how anyone can do that to cute helpless little thing. Sigh..the worse thing is the owner actually have the gale to say that it was his kids responsibility to ensure that the dogs are bath, fed and taken care of.

OMG! Don't the guy have any feelings? How can he just leave the dogs all tied up with no way of escaping in dark wet cold basement starve to death! I am even having images of the dogs gnawing anything that it can get to escape. Maybe those that survived did? I know, that is an image that you hope never to imagine, what more to say actually seeing. I only have one conclusion about this people, IRRESPONSIBLE SELFISH HEARTLESS devils! I was going to say pigs but pigs are too good for them.

Phew! OK! So, I am hyped up tonight. Can't helped it. I was looking through some pictures I taken using my handphone and found of my puppies and dogs. My babies! Oh gosh...I truly feel like crying!

Message for my darling doggies: Tommy baby, your mommy miss you! I hope you are happy with you new owner. Angel, please take care of Tommy ok! I really miss you guys! Should have gone over to visit you before I leave for KL but I just dont think I am strong enough not to cry in front of both of you. I don't even have your pictures to remember you by. Sigh....Hope both of you are happy and living a good doggy life..........*sob sob*

Some pics of Tommy & Angel's babies to share:
